Well from the details that are provided I would have to say that she is just being a Mom its her moral duty. You will understand when you are older.
If she was truly so controling then you would have put some details of how and there would be a great many of them... Because of this lack of details it leads me to believe that you are just a child that wants to be an adult... thats normal... although you mother knowing you the best of all doesn't for some reason think that you can make the best decisions so she will do her job and protect you... EVEN IF IT IS FROM YOURSELF.
