I'm a Christian, and there are approximately 5 - 6 different denominations located in my general area. However, I know there are alot more that "classify themselves" as "Christian"....

I say "classify themselves" because some that call themselves Christians aren't.

Anyway, help me brainstorm --- Tell me the names of the various 'Christian denominations' you can think of: Let's see how many we can come up with...

There's Roman Catholic, Anglican (Church of England), Methodist, Pentecostal, Salvation Army, Baptist, Lutheran, United...

P.S. no offense to the Jehovah Witness followers...but I don't consider your sect "Christian"

CHRISTIAN literally means "Follower of Christ"

and since JW's don't consider Christ the same as God (you strip his deity away from him) than obviously you're not a follower.

God Bless.

I don't think an accurate answer can be given to this question. However there are many recognised Christian faiths as well the false cults that have sprung up in recent times.

Its a bit like plumbers in the yellow pages. Just because someone has gone out and bought a couple of wrenches doesn't make them a plumber who can trade as one.

The true measure would be how other faiths follow the words of Jesus. Have they adapted and changed the Bible to suit their own needs? Do they try to discredit other religions to further their own? Do they claim prophecies to scare people to join and then subsequently these 'events' don't happen? Can these other Christian faiths accept other religions without denouncing them? That is a way of looking at separating the good from the not so good.

Your question seems designed mostly to insult Jehovah's Witnesses rather than seek an answer to a sincere question.

The first part of the religion is the name of God, which in English is "Jehovah". The second part describes the work which literally every active member of the religion performs, around the globe: "witnessing", or preaching.

Isaiah 48:12: “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen"

In fact, it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ's command:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

Please do not suggest that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian, and please do not slander their Scriptural name. Frankly, if you are not publicly preaching and if you are disregarding the preaching of the Witnesses, this scripture has an important message for you":
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. 3 Go forth. Look! I am sending you forth as lambs in among wolves. ...16 “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards [also] him that sent me forth.”

...LDS, JW, Protestant, Episcapalian, Jews for Jesus...

Basically, if you believe Christ is the son of God...you're Christian. Not such thing as a "true" Christian, as that's all opinionated.

In fact, I'd say any Christian who says they are a true Christian while others are not has proved the opposite.

Millions, they all think differently and they all use the Bible as a moral guide...how do they manage this when the Bible is quite evidently open to so many different interpretations...it's plainly nonsense.
