Afterall, 700 years ago people believed that the world was flat and any other belief was blasphemy period.I have not found where it says the world is flat in the Bible, but that is what they believed and any science that would prove otherwise was blasphemy.

In fact, most science then was considered sorcery and witchcraft and anyone found practicing science could be found guilty of such things and burned at the stake.Back then you did not question the church!

Why now is there a similiar problem with some on accepting at least some of the science involving evolution? Why are there those who refuse to educate themselves on biology, chemistry, carbon dating, geology, astrology, and all the other scientific and all the other evidential proof before making assumptions that suggest that science is wrong?

Just like when the world was believed to be flat, this is the same kind of argument. So where in the Bible does it say science is wrong?

true true. it doesn't say that it is." men of learning" were not blasphemers in all cases.

arostotale(sp?) was a very respected man in the church and some way some how his teachings and philosophy became gospel to the Catholics. he said the world was flat and that everythingn revolved around the earth.pretty funny.

I beleive that god creates things through the laws of science. science is an amazing thing. and God is the greatest scientist.

Ok I will answer the highlighted because your question is way too long and I don't want to read that much unless I have to. The earth is about 5000-6000 years. Take the 2000 years since Jesus now I figured out the other parts because in some bibbles at the top of the page in the old testament that say how long before Jesus it was written. It does not do that from Genesis but If you take the major characters in the book and find out about how long they lived just add those years to the years the records show. I think 5000-6000 is the most accurate answer even though scientists insit on millions of years they may be on the right track as the bible says that in the begging the earth was empty dark and completely water. Hope I helped and God bless

Nope. Nowhere in the Bible does it say the age of the Earth nor does it imply that "science" is evil or wrong. I don't think the word "science" had even been invented then yet.

As for those people who believed that the "world was flat", it merely goes to show to you that THEY DIDN'T READ the Bible! Period. And of all things, neither did the pope and clergy at the time when Galileo postulated it otherwise!!

Because it mentions the Earth's "roundness" as in Isaiah 40:22 which reads "It is God who sits above the CIRCLE of the Earth." Okay??

Granted that modern science now demonstrates the MUTATION or EVOLUTION of the Human Specie, that can still fit within Creationism, can't it?? So one day in Genesis is 100,000 human years [according to the reckoning of the Gregorian calendar, that is]... I see no problem with that at all.

But when Evolutionists make that GIANT LEAP and say that the Human Specie came from the Ape Specie... HOLD THE PHONE... then that definitely presents quite a humongous PROBLEM for many, including me! I most certainly give the Supreme Creator a WHOLE LOT MORE lattitude in His ability to create tens of thousands of different SPECIES than certain Evolutionists would like to believe: from amoeba, to paramecium, to tadpole, to fish, to reptile, [then some to birds while others] to mammals, to apes, to humans... Hahaha!! What's next up the ladder: to extraterrestrials?? LOL.

Again, on that latter point, some of US prefer to believe that we Humans descended from Humans; while others prefer to insist that THEY descended from Apes! It's just as simple as that... okay? Some will be Theists and others will be Atheists or Non-theists.

Got it? Good. ...Next!

This is an overly realistic illustration why Christians are special than from Atheists. Most atheist do not use their God given brains to suppose and experiment a declare. But they blindly consider and agree some thing that's awarded within the title of technology. They do not even hassle to experiment and verify the declare of the asker if bibles truthfully says so. That is how blind such a lot of you're. The bible by no means stated the arena used to be created 6000 years in the past. They identical approach you will have judged the bible, you will have pass judgement on Christianity and God on the grounds that you by no means fairly wish to understand or discover out. Christians consider in what they perception on the grounds that they have got attempted and established their religion. They have learn the Bible and it speaks the Truth to them. I haven't any obstacle with technology however I do not accept as true with each clinical claims on the grounds that as you could recognise after few years every other scientist could declare otherswise. Until as much as few many years in the past, airplane aerofoil conception used to be situated on wholly improper conception, scientist inspiration they understood how aerofoil produced carry and among the airplane in air even at present have been constructed with that improper perception approximately aerofoil. What does that indicates ? Science would be mistaken however nonetheless could seem precise, it could simplest seem precise for a second till the truly fact be found out in a question of time. There isn't any recorded historical past past 6000 years in the past, and there isn't motive why the arena will have to have existed approximately billions of years in the past. I could now not behave like several aethiest and swear that the earth is billions of years ancient as I have now not learn the proof and qhat ways of carbon relationship used to be used to check that and I do not even recognise if the the process they used could produce the identical esults everytime the experiment is completed. For it to be scientifically proper the experiement need to be repeatable and will have to consistently supply the identical influence and will have to now not supply a variety like among four and five billions years ancient.

The Bible is not a science book, it's goal is not to answear the question. The u.s. constitution does not talk about how old the earth is same with our law books or irs code, that doesn't mean they are not true. Evolution is just a theory and it is hard to prove, Carbon dating is not as accurate as you may think, geological data is very inacurate,. We don't have transitional animals to prove that it is correct. Can you base a science on just one % evidence. Theory of evolution when you evaluate the facts is a bigger leap of fate than the Bibles version.

it doesn't say exactly, but people have tried to count it by counting all the people and their decendants in the biblical geneologies. this doesn't take as long as you may think. i toyed with it years ago and came up with different anwsers every time, though most of them were between 10,000 and 11,000 years. of course i think the earth is much older than that, but that;'s what i came up with. the human race is much older than that.
this does not give you the age of the earth because genesis says man was created before he was on the earth. adam and eve were man of the dust of the earth and were created after man was. adam and eve were a modification of man to allow man to be able to live on the earth. the ape bodies we inhabit are merely earth suits so man can survive here. earth suits, like the astronauts wear space suits. sorry i can't help you with the age of the earth.
man was created in genesis, chapter one. man of the earth was created after the main creation in genesis, chapter two.

You have to add the genealogy. It figures to be about 6000 years.
As far as science, I don't think it directly says anything about it unless you consider it sorcery.

It doesn't have to. The bible is a library for people's education.
The word of God needs no explanation, just a bit of loving persuasion.
