there! look how you cant even find one(1) verse where Jesus says "I am God"
Before Abraham was I am??????? Before Abraham was what? God? I am what? does not say anything about him being God

2006-06-10 10:34:22 · update #2

So if "I am" is God's name, then Jesus was saying that before Abraham was God. Otherwise he would have said"before abraham was, I am I am. even though that is the language of a confused drunkard

Sure. "I am" hath sent me.

Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

What don't you understand? Jesus said before Abraham was "I am".

THERE IT IS, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST.

Spock would be disappointed in your logic.

The Bible is very clear that Jesus is God. Jesus says in John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." In John 8:24, He says He is God, and goes on to say that if you don't believe this, you will die in your sins.

Jesus claims to be God in John 8:24 & 8:58 by saying He is the "I am" (see Exodus 3:14) and the Jews threatened to stone Him (see John 8:59 and John 10:33, and notice what this verse gives as their reason for wanting to stone Him; "because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God"). Jesus received worship (see John 9:38) which would be blasphemous in the extreme for a man or even an angel (see Revelation 22:8-9). Only God receives worship. Isaiah wrote that the Messiah would be God in Isaiah 9:6.

Titus 2:10 and 2:13 tell us that He is both God and our Savior.

Bob you have a brain that must be exposed to the world.

Jesus was a mortal prophet sent from God to show people the right path. Jesus is son of Mary. God told Mary not to worry and gave Jesus powers to heal and re-live people only by saying ' within Gods will'. Jesus was not crusifixed. He was not killed. How the hell can God let his own prophet get killed by some cheap non-believers? God sent Jesus back to heaven and replaced him by a non-believer and altered his appearence to look like Jesus. That non-beliver is whom people think is Jesus and God and what ever.

How can Jesus be the son of God? If so, who is the mother or wife of God? People are in catastrophic confusion indeed.

HERE'S A TRICKY ONE!: If Jesus is God. How can God die?? Wow God is dead.. cool now we're gonna live here for ever... cuz there is no God. Are you trying to say that Christians are... atheists?.... oopsy

Jesus was not divine. He was a mortal prophet sent from God to show people the right path to worship God. The only God.

God gave you all a brain to think with.. use it wisley

Jesus is not God.

John 8:58. Jesus says, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

I AM was the name God referred to himself by (it was considered blasphemous for a Jew to speak the name of God; they used other words out of respect.)
------
The word for was here could also be translated as "existed."

Understand that his use of "I Am" could not have been miscrontrued by the hearers as anything but the name of God. It was a different word than, say "I am alive" or "I am a carpenter."

------
What, you don't think him capable of making a play on words? And don't say he wouldn't make a play on words; he used metaphors all the time in his preaching.

Sorry! There is no such verse. Jesus stated that his father is greater than he is. Though with his father's directions he did create the universe and all we know, he had to retain the ability to die for the sacrifice he alone was destined to make.
Once that occurred, he was given immortal life by his father.
(Please note! The Angels do not have immortal life either)

John 10-Note they knew what He was saying
I and My Father are one.”
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

Here He takes the very Name of God to Himself (I AM)
John 8:58-59

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple,[a] going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

The Book of John

Chapter 10

23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30
I and my Father are one.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

In the above verse, Jesus Christ is the Word.

There are none because he never claimed to be Almighty God.He is God's Son and the first angel that was directly created by God.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation"(Colossians 1:15)
