I am sorry for asking a question with out my saying thank you in advance. I should practice what I preach, as the saying goes. But thank you all for taking the time to even look at this question., and giving some good feedback.

and I forgot to say your welcome to some who have chossen me as best answer. Not many have chosen me, but it is a start. Sometimes you can't get back to the ones who do say thank you, so that is why I asked this. And I don't think it tacky to say it, or should the person feel uncomfortable for receiving a thank you. If you do something for someone, it is your due to get a thank you for your job well done. We just all need to remember what our parents taught us when we were little. To carry it through when we are adults is just the right thing to do. So again thank you to everyone in advance.

So does asking the question "does anyone else says thank you" count as a thank you? I don't know... you might be in violation of your own ettiquette.

But I agree maybe we should all take a cue from Kim Possible and always end each request with "Please and Thank You!"

I don't think I thank in advance but I try to remember to thank everyone when I pick a best answer. I often tend to forget to thank people when I put a question to vote though.

I guess it's a cultural difference, but I've always thought that "Thank you in advance" seems tacky and coercive. I feel just a tinge of discomfort when anyone thanks me for something which I have not yet done. It is good to thank someone after they have answered your question. I would like to read the answers you get.

Yes, I agree ! Not many people do that anymore . What a shame . I will start doing that because it is a good thing to tell someone . Thank You to you for bringing to everyone`s attention.
