God says to help all who ask. Even if only one out of ten really need it, you'll be missing the one if you don't help them all. God says He even disguises angels as needy so if you don't help all who ask you might be saying no to an angel. God also says if you help those in need you will never be in need yourself. Life is made up of choices, that's why we're here. The choices we make, is the deciding factor in who we follow.

I don't think it is the question that is as disturbing as a lot of the answers are. I think the individual asking may have just stated that he is experiencing discomfort more than disdain. I like the way you answered it, though. If that gives you any consolation.

To be honest they bother me too. Most beggars are NOT poor, but they only claim to be. I give charity, but I give it to those who I'm sure they're poor, and I give it (charity) through organized charity, not randomly, this makes be sure that people who deserve it will take it.
