i use hair products all the time, wether its gel, clay, wax, fibre putty, whatever the product, ive always realised that in the adverts the way the product is portrayed in the form of style is always so unrealistic for me, because i can never get my style like that...even though mine is good, i prefer those....anybody else experienced this or does it depend on how you style it???!!!

absolutely i find that too.
but their hair is prob done by pros, redone every 2 minutes and only has to last for the ad filming
so maybe we are trying to acheive the impossible.
they have to make you want it after all.

The adverts are fake, if they really worked stars would would tell you in mags and top tips interviews. The only thing you can do if make time for yourself save a little money and then play with different styles until you find one you like and mastered the technique, that's what they do in hairdressers and remember they took at least two years training 6 hours a day, so please don't put yourself down for having a bad hair day. We all have them.

FAKE. Especially the gels/waxes aimed at men that promise ultimate hold. Nothing keeps my hair in place. The best thing I have found is garnier fructis 'manga' gel; it is practically glue. But unless you have really good, thick, well-conditioned hair (mine is thinning and sometimes frizzy) and a perfect haircut (frequently maintained) then you're never going to look like a hair model. Just like most people will never look like a shop mannequin or supermodel.

they have award winning stylists to make it look great, probably a little of computer graphics, and more likely tons and tons of jars are used to make the spike stick out.
