You must first understand that there is no such person as a religious fanatic. Religious people are religious and fanatics are fanatics. The two do not go hand in hand.
I am not Islamic, this is just plain common sense. Anyone committing terrorist acts in the name of God are horribly mistaken.

Why do white people breed Jeffrey Dahmer or McVeigh or Charles Manson .. this is an unfair question. There are crooks and criminals on all sides. It is an irony that Muslim countries of the middle-east have oil, so all the conflict is taking place there at the present time. If not, Malaysia is a Muslim country, it does not have any terrorists. Heck fifty years ago, you would have never heard of a Muslim terrorist as oil was not an issue. Islam has been around for 1400 years. Do not judge an ancient faith by what a few do at a given time of history for political reasons. Also remember, that there are 1.2 billion Muslims. If one percent would commit terrorism, that would make 1.2 million terrorists, and still 99 percent of the people would be innocent of wrong doing. Count all the terrorist incidents you know and tell me how can you blame 99.99 percent of a group of people for what less than a fraction of one percent do?

Islam has never breed terrorists, in the Koran-the holy book of islam-it says that no one has right to kill anybody for any reason but self-defense(as all the religions and even laws allow). This is all about politics and oil that lots of different governments don't want to admit it and tell the truth to the world. Islam existed long time ago and since its existence, it always respected other religions. So why the terrorists appear just now?

I don't think Islam breeds terrorists. I think that the Arab community has gotten the short end of the stick in many of it's dealings with the outside world and I think that breeds terrorism.
It has been said that during America's first major gas crisis in the 70s that "the powers that be" decided that it was in their best interest for the nations of islam to not progress further in their development because then they would want to keep all their oil for themselves. I have heard, that to that end, America, England and others have made it their business to keep that group of people down by providing arms and training to keep them fighting amongst themselves. It is only now that they are turning their attentions on those same "powers that be" that the war on terror has begun.
It just so happens that they are islamic - I think the same would be true for whatever group turned out to be sitting on all that oil.

Islam does not breed terrorists. I have grown up in a country, which for many years was the subject of IRA terrorism. These were supposedly Christians, disaffected by the grip Britain had on Northern Ireland. Yet behind this facade, lay a spider's web of drug running and criminality that could in no way be found in the Bible. Yet Christians continued to attack Christians in the name of freedom, without any realisation that in truth many of the things that they stood for were totally against what their religion taught.
It is the same with the current crop of Islamic terrorists. They are not aware that they are going against the teachings of their prophet, they are being manipulated by those who wish to destabilise the Western dominance of the World Economy and are willing to pervert their religion in order to carry this out.
Eventually people will realise that they are being taken for a ride and will rebel against these teachings, it's just a matter of time.

Just to clarify, terrorists come from every religion (except maybe Buddhists). Timothy McVey was probably Christian and he is categorized as a terrorist (one who incites terror). I would also categorize the KKK as a "terrorist ring".
Terrorists don't agree with beliefs of the country or group of people they attack. In the case of what happened east of Toronto last week (where I'm from), they felt Muslims were being treated unfairly. Given by what the Western world has seen from them (9/11 attacks, the bombings in Madrid and London, the near attacks in Toronto and the GTA), we are now prejudice to believing that all Muslims are out to get us, which is actually completely untrue.
Islam preaches peace and does not condone these attacks. Allah does not tell them to do anything.
Please note, I'm a white Christian female, so what I'm saying isn't biased towards Muslims.

Ok, first to all those who say "Christan's do terrorist acts too".
Ok, they have , I'm not denying that.
But NOWHERE on the same scale. Its not even close.
Islamic terrorist make groups, give themselves names, seek funding from Islamic countries, and businesses. The abortion bombing people, and the Mc Vey's of the world did not.
Everyday, Islamic terrorist blow something up, most of the time, including themselves.
Koran praises martyrdom. The terrorist feed off that.
Western muslims, how much of the "taxes" you pay to your Mosque go over seas? Where does that money go?
Wake up, western muslims fund these terrorist training camps, and finance these actions. Congratulations, you paid for 9/11.

The Middle East is under threat from the biggest force the world has ever known.
A large portion of that populace is drawn together by the Islamic faith, and when hitting back at their opprerssors, they are going to have to reconcile that with their mostly peace-preaching religion. There is much precendence for this. Many religions, especially Christianity, have, in the past, met violence WITH violence. And felt perfectly justified, because they felt that God was on their side.
Even Rastafarianism, one of the most laid back religions today, had, at it's core, the fundamental right to fight back at their oppressors.
However, I do believe it is wrong for any country to fight under the banner of God. The 'War On Terrorism' has nothing to do with religion. The 'terrorists' may well believe that God is on their side, but their cause remains firmly a political one.

A better question is 'why do some people in most communities everywhere feel the need to kill others?'
It's not just Islam, what of Christianity?
It is the human condition, we're selfish, thoughtless and intolerant. It can be the big things like killing, or the little things like using a car, polluting and causing floods or droughts elsewhere. We're all having an effect on our neighbours.
There are answers, but some people always prefer conflict.
