My ancestors came to Taiwan from Fujian, China during the Ching / Qing Dynasty. According to Chinese legends, the Chinese people are the descendants of Yan Di's and Huang Di's tribes in ancient times (long story, you can ask me if you are interested). As their descendant and a person who grows up in the Chinese culture, I am a Chinese from Taiwan (or ROC, depending on which name you support) according to the ancient Chinese value. I would also say that I'm a Taiwanese, as I'm from Taiwan the island. I speak Manderin Chinese and Holkienese (or Taiwanese) and write in Traditional Chinese.
