you can use flea powder or spray but best to go to the vets and buy a product there (you don't need a vets appointment just go see the receptionist). If you have fleas in your house or in his bedding they may keep coming back. Inside the house you can set off a fleabomb. You need to remove your cat from the house or shut them in a room where you will not set off the fleabomb and you have to go out for a few hours. We had a terrible infestation of fleas many years ago. At the peak I was getting changed one day and found about 10 fleas on me. It was horrid. We had a clean home and took good care of our cat but somehow she had got fleas and this had happened. We set off flea bombs in all the rooms and then repeated it in a week. We got flea stuff for the cat and washed bedding etc in hot water (there were even fleas in our bed). Thankfully we never had a problem again. I don't even know where the fleas came from as we lived in a high rise apartment and she had no contact with other cats or animals....

Take your cat to the Vet to get some spot-on drops such as Frontline or whatever they think best. We were told by our Vet that flea collars aren't really that useful anymore as most of the insectisides used have now been taken off the market.
You also need to treat your pets bedding/sleeping area, your furniture and carpets. Get some spray and powder and always follow the instructions on the canisters. Second or third treatments are advisable as fleas can be stubborn!!

go to your vet or pet shop and get a proper flea treatment from them that kills not only the adult fleas, but the flea larvae so that no more can hatch. it will be something to squirt between the shoulders of the cat. while you are buying these things please also make sure you buy a couple of spray cans of flea killer that is for your house, that also kills fleas and larvae.
you will need to spray your home. all furniture, mattresses and wherever the cats sleep. you will need to follow the directions carefully. there are things called flea bombs for the house, and they are a bit more expensive but far more convenient. again - be vigilant in checking the labels and using as directed.

Fleas combs are worthless, unless you have a great flea medicine; which is Advantage. Your vet sells this. Store bought medicine is a joke, AND can be lethal to your kitty. After the fleas are dead on your cat, THEN, your flea comb is great for removing them.

Use frontline plus or advantage for the fleas. A flea comb does help too. You have to treat the house use a carpet spray or fogger. If the cat goes outside to you will have to treat the yard.

A good qualityy and expensive flea collar. The ones at the vet are best, the ones at the supermarket can be dangerous.

i use Frontline it works all month, and then you don't need to bath them or use flea collars. However if they were infested u should bomb your house too now that the fleas wont go on the cats they will look to u.

There are flea drops for cats, and flea powder for the carpets, and various other things that might help. Good luck.

Get a bug spray, get a special shampoo, do not use the bug spray if they layed eggs because it will not get rid of the eggs. Don't get fleas either the Cat fleas could get in your hair if they are really hungry.
