Absolutely. We do live in country that supports both free speech and freedom of religion. Being so, each religion is going to get bashed once in a while, even Christianity. But that's America. Land of the free. Atheists can say what they want, as long they aren't encouraging violent acts on people, and the same goes to theists to. I mean the KKK has their own website. There isn't much we can do about the promotion of hate. It's going to happen. The least people could do is ignore the message, but pay attention to the words. Again, I will say it:

AS LONG AS A PERSON IS NOT INCITING VIOLENT ACTS, THEY ARE FULLY PROTECTED UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

Criticism and disagreement are not the same as promoting hatred.

Actual threats or promoting hatred against an identifiable person or group should always be reported. That kind of thing spoils the forum for everybody.

Depends. Is it a critical and disbelieveing post? Or is the poster actually threatening? Be very sure!!
When we express our opinions, we must remain socially responsible.
If I ,being a Christian post that I believe that Jesus is the way to heaven, fine. However, if I say that all who believe differently are doomed to hell, and should be killed then I am guilty of a hate crime
Same goes for Jew or Muslim

Would it be wrong for me to report this question as a hate post for criticizing the opinion of someone whose opinion differs from yours?

You really have to be a little more specific. Being critical IS NOT being hateful.

I think it would be wrong, free speech is what freedom in our society is based on. After all, there are a lot of questions telling people that Islam is the religion of the devil, and I've yet to see a pro-atheist question.

Yes it would be wrong. I'm not reporting people who are not atheists like me, am I? I report hateful, heinous people. Diversity is not an excuse.

And being critical is not bashing. Being stupid, on the other hand...

There is nothing wrong with presenting arguments for ones point of view. Now however if anyone where to threaten someone with eternal torture, now that would be hateful.
