Vindictive? Interesting word. I am assuming family court, specifically divorce? And you are one of the children.

There is a divorce decree that states what both parties are responsible for. When that decree is violated, the person is responsible is in contempt of the court. It is actions of one person, not the result of other person.

Divorce is hardest on the children. Family law is mainly interested in the care for the children. It then tries to separate the assets. Finally, it tries to make sure support is issue where and when necessary.

Have said all that, maybe you should have asked "How do I stop my parents from fighting?" And the answer is "You don't". Try to be neutral and love them individually. Remember, no one is prefect including your parents.

women are just more adept and better equipped to handle the judicial system. we usually (but not in all cases) have right on our side. the courts are inundated with cases of nonpayment of child support and fathers not living up to their agreed responsibilities. granted there are fathers out there that are just the better parent (however few and far between) but they have to prove themselves to a jaded and skeptical system.
judges see something like 85% in the reverse. mothers who are left with shildren and no fatherly presence or support. so of course the courts are statistically biased in women's favors.
there are also plenty of fathers who want to strike at the mother any way they can and they'll use the kids to do it too, that's not to say that women are above that. but what i am trying to say is that particular street goes both ways.
there are men who, just because they don't like the current visitation agreement, or the ammount of support she was ordered, will simply refuse to pay it. they can get jobs off the books so their wages can't be garnished and then cry to the judge that they're unemployed and they need a reduction in support payments. these men are slime.
not to say that you are, but this is what the courts see on a day to day basis, and it all adds up to create judges that don't want to hear crap from a man unless their case is airtight. all the i's dotted all the t's crossed. frankly, men just aren't that attentive to detail and most of them just aren't long term goal oriented enough to wait out the legal process.
they just lack the skill to navigate the legal system without help, women usually can.
legal aide is available to men and women. catholic charities legal counselling is too. most of these legal programs are available equaly to both genders, especially in custody and support cases.

no. they just have to enforce the laws already in place. many fathers are court ignorant and refuse to learn so consistently lose in court. if the wife abuses it, then they have to file motions to prevent it and get sanctions.
knowledge is power.
women get more legal help provided free to them than is available to men. this disparity should be eliminated.
