I just want to do what everyone else is doing, worship the Lord in the way I feel comfortable (as a woman) but I have to put up with ridicule and some church members have even told me not to come back. Can they do this? I thought this was God's house and that he made decisions as to who he wanted there.

You should try my method of winning over the preacher:

Sit on the front pew and wear no underwear.

It not about the Church accepting you as a transvestite, it is whether you are willing to conceed your life of transvestite deception (a deviation from the created man/woman that you were given at birth), and allow the Creator God of Heaven and Earth, and even you to be Lord (you relinquish control of your selfish lifestyle and ways) of your life.

This is what others of the Church have done and it is the way that God has established for all of us. Your lifestyle is the offense to God, not you. As you see this you will know that you are loved. The more you know how much you are loved, the more you will want to follow the mandates and precepts of Jesus Christ in your life. All the other stuff will become just that, stuff.

They can depending the church. Not very Christian, is it? They call it God's house but in reality its the Church's or theirs, depending on the church. That's why they can tell you not to come back. It would seem to me that if they accepted people more than just condemning them they'd accomplish what they want, change, more easily. Just curious....How do they know you're a transvestite? If you dress like a woman, why don't they assume that you are one? Maybe if you didn't tell them, which is none of their business anyway, maybe you could be there without their comments. Some people can be so narrow-minded.

Well in the context of a church.... The majority of churchs belive that god made you what he wanted you to be, and for you to defie the fact that he made you a man by coming as a woman would be a great disrespect to god.

As for where you can go you should try to find a non-strict reeligion... Some religions are more leaneant on things then other... not to say that one is right or one is wrong its just they way that they beilieve.

Just go to church with your head held high. But why you want to go is beyond me...religion is evil, worship in your own way, not with a bunch of small minded, sanctimonious bible bashing idiots who get up to a lot worse behind closed doors. He who has not sinned cast the first stone and all that crap... I like bloody marys answer and totally agree. Do a Sharon Stone on the preacher!

You are a better person than any of those bible thumping idiots. It is not what you believe that counts, it is the kind of person you are that matters. That is why I am an atheist. You have experienced at first hand the hate that religion can breed. You are rejected because of what is written in a 2000 year old book of fairytales. Don't worry about those close minded people. You just live your life as best you can. Best of luck.

Your in a very difficult position. Don't give up though! whatever you do. Continue going to the church you have always gone to. It is you right, your belief. The church members telling you not to return I am guessing are very oldfashioned by the sounds of it. Ignore there comments as if they are religious why are they judging you? ask them that one. Don't let anone put you down and most importatnly don't change the way you are to please others or to be accpeted. Good luck!

I dont want this to come off as a gay bash, because I dont bash gays or anyone. However, you are not a woman so to enter a church or anywhere AS a woman is projecting a lie. In churches, its normal to welcome sinners but not to welcome the act of the sin. Should the church you attend let alcoholics get drunk in the pews? Fornicators to have sex in the aisles? Until you truely are a woman, dressing up as one (whether it feels good or not) is a lie. Dont expect the churches to accept this during the services.

That's why you do not listen to the people at church. It is God's house, not theirs. If you feel like worshiping there, go right ahead girl! good luck!
