Animals often show depression like symptoms after another one passes. We had an older mother/daughter pair of cats and after the mother passed away, the daughter slept in the spot where she died for about 2 weeks. She showed some other strange behavior for a few months afterwards as well.
Keep giving her love and attention as long as she needs it. She will come out of it. If your family is up for it, a new kitten can sometimes help for the companionship especially if she was used to having another cat around.

it sounds as if you are spot on. i am sure your cat is grieving the loss of her baby! this happened with my cat a couple of times when kittens in her litters passed away. they can lash out when you are playing when they are struggling with an adjustment such as this. try to be patient with her, and don't take it personally. perhaps give your vet a call to get some tips.

Its probably normal because cats have a wierd personality or if it is what you think it is just wait, the mother will get over her kitten's death sooner or later.

what your thinking is probably right. she probably misses her little kitten -child and is taking it out on you, just try giving her catnip, giving her love and alot of space so she could get over her loved one. Maybe that will cheer her up, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
Hope this helps, goodluck!

Probably she misses her kitten, or it could be a little "love nip", but could be telling you something hurts. I'd take her to the vet to get it checked out if you don't see something unusual.

Animals when loosing one of their young ones will act as humans do. All mammals have feelings. Not just humans.
