Its a hard situation you want to talk yet you don't want to talk too much, been there done that. Try talking to her about school, ask her about herself girls always have something to say about themselves if those things don't work then its her not you. She might not be ready. Or it just might be a case of nerves too don't forget she is also worried about what to say to you. Try again. Don't go to the movies too much pressure try something more fun, bowling, an amusement park, anything that wont force the issue of confinement. Just relax it will all flow.

Talk about trivial things, find a common interest between the two of you and beat it to death, if your really struggling. Take notes from her though like if she wears a shirt with a band on it talk to her about the band. "So you uh like BANDNAMEHERE do you?". Girls aren't all socially different from guys, they all have there quirks but you can pretty much talk to them like you do your male friends (minus the cursing and insults).

Start a conversation about anything! Like what do you want to do when you go to college? Or.... what is your favorite color? Or...some general questions like that.

try talking about your past. it's always good to look at your past childhood. or try commenting on anything you see when you're with her. be careful though, don't be so stereotypical.
