First off, don't be in a rush! It will happen when it does. It usually can be any where from 8 to 16. It may be exciting at first because to you it means that you are growing up, but later on you'll see it as a curse when you have to go through the motions. You don't always know when it comes everyone does not get the symptoms, ie back pain nausea abdominal pain. You may see spots of blood when you do the first time and it may not happen again for another month or so or even a year, until it is ready. But after you turn 15 or 16 and still none then it is time for your mom to take you to the doctor to get test done. Don't let this scare you because you may just be a late bloomer.

Every girl is different, so it would be hard to say when you'd start your period. Some of the signs you might have (and again it's different for every girl)cramps a day or so before. Cramps are almost like a tummy ache but not in your tummy, slightly lower, or you might get a backache that just doesn't want to go away, no matter which way you sit or lie down, and if your breasts have developed, they might feel very sore, even your bra or t-shirt rubbing against will hurt. Then of course there would be the blood flow which usually lasts for 4-6 days. The flow mostly starts off heavy then gets lighter as the days go by. I think I've mentioned everything. Hope this helps.

Well, I'm 12 and I got mine a year ago. My mom got hers when she was 9, then again, she had A LOT of stress in her life, that can also impact on when you get it. Before I got mine, my boobs started to hurt a lot, and I became very restless and irritable. When it actually came, I was surprised, because I can remember the exact moment that it happened! It looked all brown and gross because it soaked right into my underwear, ick! I was 120 lbs at 4' 10" when I got it. I hope that that's enough info for ya!

well one of the first signs would probably be blood on your panty. Other than that, you might get really moody shortly before your period, your breasts might be tender and during your period, your uterus (in other words the part slightly below your bellybutton like by your bladder) might start to cramp or in my case, your lower back might hurt. Hope this helps! If not, maybe you can talk to your mom, a sister or a friend.

Here I've heard of the rule of the 100 pounds - as soon as you reach the weight, you will get your period the latest - otherwise probably by the age of 12-13.

It's different for every girl, but usually happens between the ages of about 12 and 16. Height and weight have nothing to do with it.
Your period will make itself quite obvious when you do get it.

Ask your mom when she got her period and you'll get an idea of when you'll get yours. You'll know when you have it- there will be a reddish or brownish liquid in your panties. It's not something that you won't recognize.
