I think it is an excellent theory. While many different religions may call their god (and goddess) by different names, I think in the end we are all worshipping the same god. We all just have different ways of worship. God/dess is not confused - the Divine knows we are speaking to it and loves us all the same.

Makes sense to me. I think even without organized theology and teachings, many people feel there is something bigger, something greater in the world than just us immortals. People interpret things in many different ways. You and a friend hear a story, you may never see each other again, and you go to tell that story to someone else, and they are going to tell that story to others, each will have a vaguely similar story, but details will be different. It is a valid theory to think that this higher being or power could be interpreted by the masses of people who have lived on this earth, to be a power or Deity that they believe to be "their" god, while others believe that power or entity to be "their" god. While it is a valid theory it is of course only a theory. I'm not sure how believing in one interpretation of God verses another can have a negative effect on your soul. If you are living to best of your ability, respecting others, loving your fellow mankind, and always trying to do good (everyone understands a basic good and bad, religious or not), I don't see how that will be held against you, regardless of who God ends up being.

There are many "gods" of many faith systems..those stemming from Christianity such as Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses and some others but the one point here is this. There is only ONE God...The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as personofied in the Godhead (Not Triune or Trinity because that implies 3). YHWH of the Bible is translated for the Hebrew dialect as Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey...meaning "Self existant one" or "I am".
Yod-Shin-Vav-Ayin or Yeshua is the real Hebrew name for Jesus which means "YHWH saves". When you confess with your mouth "Yeshua Messiah is YHWH" then you are saved..because essentially you are believing not just "in" Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah) but that He is God. So the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of Israel..and He has many names and way by which to address Him according to all the various dialects and languages all over the world..however, unless the faith system teaches that the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is YHWH...the Godhead..then the religion is false. God established the human family and designed it after the devine family..while each of us are created as a living individual soul we are all human. While God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all individual "beings" co-existant and eternal...they are "God".
Think of them as a lamp. The lampstand, the fuel and the fire. The Father is the source, the Son is the light and the Holy Spirit its warmth. Any and all "faith systems" can and often do have truth..however, Satan knows that with God's plan of salvation that many have been led astray to beleive in false gods and false doctrines...all it takes is one small deviation from the Truth, The Way and the Life...Jesus (Yeshua)...through Him all things were made and for Him...in Him we live, move and have our being..if this is not acknowledged...be it Jew, Hindu, Muslim, any "christian" denomination that denies the diviinity, or cult such as JW's or Mormons (JW's deny Christ is God and the Mormons believe that God the Father was once a man, Jesus and Lucifer were brothers and etc.) then the truth is not in them. There is only one Way..one absolute truth...many do not find it though all are called to search. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

I don't think so. There is the Jewish religion, the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses, in addition to Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist, Southern Baptist, and many more who are Christians. Then there is Buddhist, Islam, Hindu...and many more.

The only thing that SHOULD be the same about all of them, is that they should teach peace. I've noticed that many people want to fight over religions--that is not being peaceful. They also SHOULD all remind us to be good people, and to have faith.

I don't agree there are many religuos gods to start with, there is only one God. The real Almighty God said in his word (the bible) in Deuteronomy 5:7 'You shall have no other god before me'. this tells you that there is no other god except the Almighty. so the theory that you think that many religons gods are essentially the same is wrong.

definitely NO
Hindus believe in multiple gods, Buddhism believe in a way to Nirvana, Islam believe in Allah, some believe THEY are god.

Christians believe there is only ONE way to God, that is through Jesus Christ.
If the theory holds that only one can be true, since the rest contradicts each other, Jesus Christ is the only one is not in His grave. He is seated a tthe right hand of God. He is coming back. You can count on it. The others have remained in the grave for a LOOOONG time.

It's not a theory that Jews, Muslims and Christians worship the same God. All three worship the God of Abraham.

Sure it is... but then you have to explain why religions contradict each other, and that's really rather simple. God tries to communicate... humans try to write it down,... they completely screw everything they are told,... because of that every last one is wrong but with some truth here and there,...God is not amused to be blamed for things like killing babies in Canaan, but just says, "Whatever" and goes on loving us. The end.

Weird, though, how He never just decides to end the confusion and say, "HERE I AM!!!"

No, it is not a good theory. And there aren't a lot of gods. There is just one God. I would say no. but that's just me. we probably have different religions.
