You can connect the line-out jacks on a cassette deck to the line-in jack on your computer's sound card. You'll need a Y-adapter that combines the left and right channel signals from the tape deck into a single stereo connector. You can get it at Radio Shack. Software like Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 will let you take the analog input from the tape deck and save it as MP3 files using the software's Sound Editor. Version 6 is not the latest and greatest, but should still be available and will be suitable for your purposes. Cost is about $30 at Staples. (Version 8 has newer features designed more for video editing and costs around $80.)
