"And the (faithful) slaves of the Most Gracious (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness."

Do you follow what's in the verse? Or you just reacte with anger and foolishness?

I follow this but a lot of Muslims dont...
A lot of Muslims are extremists and get emotional and angry, then they start attacking people and the non-muslims think that Islam is a violent religion, when it is the most peaceful religion in the world, just read the Quran or watch the movie Message...
Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) sayings were completly different from what a lot of muslims are doing these days...

I know this question is directed toward the Muslim populus, but I believe there are no religious boundaries as far as anger is concerned. Perhaps it's the few bad sects that give the good Muslims a bad reputation for something they don't subscribe to...Hate. Again, no major world religion to my knowledge is guiltless of something historically in terms of an isolated group vendication thingy. Just a thought.

And did you ask this question because you reacted with anger and foolishness? Do you realise that you are accusing every Muslim of being violent?

What about Christians? Didn't America bomb a whole country because there were terrorists in there (Afghanistan) even though the country itself didn't attack them? And what about Iraq?

Of course people react violently when attacked by other countries!

PS: I'm an atheist, and any war started in the name of God (whichever he is) pisses me of. Plus, it doesn't make any sense.

I think there is no need to attack muslim people here just because of a pack of physco fools. I never support what those radical muslam countries or people do but I think blaming a whole religion just because of their acts is wrong. There are physco catholics bla bla. There can be bad people out of a religion, a country or any society but this never shows the whole character of it.

i feel bad about this but i haven't reached the stage of replying gently to foolish people. the best i could do is to ignore 'em all, which happens very often. but sometimes i lose my temper so bad i couldn't find it with a dog. i hope that i'll soon be able to keep my calm at all times when dealing with stupid and provocative people. as we know, it's only shaitaan whispering in our hearts and making us go wild with anger. auzubillah.

jazakallah for reminding me.

These words reflect the goal of all religions and all wise people of good heart. Do unto others as you have done unto yourself, and stay alert to do it first.

It is not easy to hold your anger, it is almost impossible, Muslims or non Muslims. but a person can always try.
