I'm kind of a "bigger girl" and it's really hot just now so I've been wearing skirts because it's much cooler than trousers. But my thighs rub together at the top, especially when it's hot and I'm a bit sweaty and it really hurts after a while.

What can I do to stop them rubbing so much? Besides losing weight obviously, which I'm trying to do just now anyway.

Please don't be nasty, I know I'm too fat.

hey gurl, dont worry, i am going thru the same problem now.

Firstly, stop wearing tight panties at the thights , wear some loose ones or dont wear them when ur at home or at night.the elasticity in them causes friction and also makes the rubbing even worst so u get a rash there.

Secondly, wash ur self there and use a cooling cream , also use a talcum powder and carry one with u .

Thirdly, wear flare or a line skirts, u can wear cycling shorts inside the skirt , cotton ones, so that ur thights dont rub eack other.

Fourthly, when sitting out side spread ur legs a bit so there is some breathing space in between ur thights. At home u can lay under a fan all spread so ur thighs r much cooler and there is less pain.

And lastly, plz take this information seriously as i dont mean to ridicule u , it might sound funny but trust me it works !!

Hiya, Ive always had this problem (even when I was thin) get a big blob of cream/lotion and put it on where your thighs rub, don't rub it all the way in though. If you wear tights put the cream on top of the tights too, it should last for hours.

I promise it works, my thighs used to bleed in the summer it was so bad, I was about 9 stone at the time so no one could say I was over wight.

Hi there the same thing happens to me and Im 3 stone overweight at the mo. When I wear a dress I wear tight fitting shorts underneath to stop my legs rubbing together and they cant be seen even under the most close fitting dress or skirt. You can buy them from any sports shop. Ive got both fila and nike and they are very comfortable. Another thing I used to do on holiday is rub oil on my inner thighs and this stops me getting a sore red mark there when I walk. Hope this helps you x

I have the same problem and Im not overweight at all, I rarely wear skirts for that reason but when I do I either put powder on my legs or wear extra long support knickers to stop the skin rubbing. Shorts work too

Use boy shorts type panties and they will keep your thighs away from each other.
The reason why it starts hurting after a while is that it sweats and starts rubbing more against each other. Use talc and that should keep it dry.
You have to be extremely thin for your thighs not to rub against each other. So don't worry, most people have this problem.

As other people have said, this problem happens with LOADS of women, and you have to be ridiculously skinny for it not to happen! I usually use baby powder between my legs, but the problem is, you have to keep re-applying it which can be a bit annoying. My other suggestion is to wear very thin tights, just 10 or 15 denier, that stops the rubbing and won't make you too warm. And then you can make your legs look tanned too which always helps you look slimmer!

I had the same problem too when I was overweight and sadly my daughter does too at the moment, and I totally sympathise with you. To be honest other than losing weight there is not much you can do. What i did was basically have plenty of showers and use talcum powder, when thing became really painful I ended up using a medicated powder too. But that's as much as you can do....... I'm sorry to say.

Good luck with the weight loss thing....stick with it, it will be worth the struggle in the end.
Take care
xx

Try using talcum powder. It helps dry the skin and when the 2 skins rub together they wont cause friction. Hope this helps.

Take time once a 7 days to plan out and purchase meals and snacks so you're prepared whenever hunger strikes.

Follow the 80/20 rule, which means eating clean 80 percent almost daily and indulging a little 20 percent of the time.
