♡The best kind of rice to use is Japanese rice which is medium-grained and is also known as "sticky rice". This will enable you to make perfect and delicious rice balls. You can find it in most Japanese markets if there are any in your area, or Asian food stores as well. If you can't find it in stores, try ordering it on line. (It's sometimes easier and convenient.)

This gives you a description and tells you how to cook the rice too, take a look:

Take a look at this page, it's very helpful with lots of tips for preperation and other possible ingredients for making rice balls or as we calol them here in Japan "onigiri"...

Good luck and I hope this helps! I love rice balls and have them for lunch on the run often.(*^o^*)♡

You need Asian rice! It's medium grain, and anything else won't be sticky enough, or taste quite the same!!

Ask at your local Asian or Oriental food store, they'll be able to tell you how to cook it too! Or if they sell 'sushi' rice in your supermarket, it'll have English instructions on the packet!

If you can't get medium grain rice, settle for pudding rice - it's short grain, but it's sticky!

Just use instant white rice! You can find it at any grocery store. Takes 5 minutes to make!

any kind of rice, but when u make it, make the rice sticky, and if u anna know how to make sticky rice, read the instructions on the package, but add mroe water than it calsl for, and when you put the lid on and simmer it, simmer until all the water is absorbed, that rice nto only will stick to itself, but probably to the wall as well

Try these for the right information, and I'm sure you have a Japanese grocery somewhere around you.
