I don't hope to gain anything. I use it as justification regarding the 80/20 rule. I'm starting to think it's more like 90/10,but I'm not going to try and rewrite the rule as it's already balanced in the correct direction.

To be of help to someone. For example, I rec'd an e-mail yesterday from a woman that was in regards to a question I had answered . She had been thinking about calling her ex who is a drug user and she ran across my answer and she said it changed her mind about calling him. So the feeling that was within me after her very nice thank-you is my gain.

well you get to read interesting answers and questions.. something to do and you get two points but they really are not getting us anything...but maybe we might just be able to help someone with some of our answers.. least if we are trying to help and not just make a joke or criticize a person that has a real problem in their life...i have hope that i have helped someone with some of my answers....

Entertainment, and the chance to clear up some misconceptions about God/religion. I've done lots of reading, but unfortunately, some here haven't.

:o) To learn about various religions.
:o) In doing so, to learn more about myself.
:o) To lose whatever negative and unfounded prejudices I might have against a group, no matter which group.
:o) To make friends, if possible. I made a few good friends! *waves to friends*
