it is impossible for everyone to agree on any one thing, there fore if i read what you wrote correctly, my appoligies if i didn't, true fact couldn't not exist.
If someone was in any burning building and you didn't try to save them that would be wrong. same thing for some ones soul.
I agree with most of what you are saying, I've asked a lot of the same question.

First, a fact is something that hasn't been disproven. So, up until it was proven that the world was round, it was fact that it was flat. It was fact that the sun revolved around the earth, until it was proven the other way round. This is how SCIENCE works. But, instead of calling them FACTS, they call them THEORIES. Until a theory is disproved, it remains a fact.
Now, I've gone and read through your previous questions and you seem so long-winded for asking pretty much.. nothing. What are you trying to get at? Are you saying that religion and god are facts? The burden of proof is upon you -- please prove it to me. Evolution and Natural Selection has plenty of "Fact" (theory) behind it and Creationism is just a bunch of crap. Are these the answers you seek from your "say a lot but ask nothing" questions?
Oh, and to touch on your statement of a fact. That, too, is your opinion and can be argued.
Onto the righteous saving the damned... I neither ask nor want to be saved by the likes of you. I'm sure, when the Christians tried to save the savage natives (ie: North, Central, South America, the islands like Cuba, Costa Rica and the like), they thought they were doing a good thing but instead nearly killed them off because of disease, ignorance and hatred. And who are you to judge me anyway? Isn't the "Creator" the only judge of me? And what if you chose the wrong creator -- there are, after all, THOUSANDS of different dieties to choose from. What if you picked the wrong one?
There's nothing wrong with believing in the great sky daddy.. if that's what drives you each day to be a better person, great. If that's what you need to hold your belief in, great. But when you start preaching that it's fact and that I should believe in it, too, because (heaven forbid!) I will go to hell, then I have a problem with it. I, as an atheist, don't preach to others that they shouldn't believe in god. I only argue with those that push their beliefs upon me. And, I am a moral individual who believes that morality is based more upon self-preservation than on something a non-existent being conjured up to control the masses. More likely so, a small group of individuals so long ago created the morals you follow to control the sheep you congregate with. I've had enough of the "good intentions" so many people of ga-hawd have. They end up mucking things up more than it was.

So what you are saying is, "Is it your opinion that..."
I guess if it is your opinion that someone is headed for eternal damnation, you might want to tell them you feel that way. It will still be up to them to decide if they feel it is their opinion that they are headed for eternal damnation. I think the greatest thing you can do is to help people learn to love others and always try to do the right thing. If they treat others with respect, and love other people, they will have a good chance of NOT causing eternal damnation on their immortal souls.

Well, it seems like you have a lot of things to study before becoming a philosopher!
When you decide to give definitions to words, you have to check that they make sense. Your definitions of "fact" and "opinion" are false.
As for your question about people trying to convert other people, I disagree with you. First of all, to which religion should people convert to? Christianity? Islam? And if you're a Christian, which sub-group is right? Catholics? Protestants? And among Protestants, which sub-group is right? etc...
Saying that God exists is not a fact, it's an opinion, a belief. Therefore, if I don't believe in God, why should I fear eternal damnation since I don't believe such a thing exists?
As for people preaching to other people because they fear for them, maybe they should try to help them on an everyday basis (not have judgements on them, charity, etc all religious values, by the way) without forcing them to convert (which is what happened and probably still happens when Western religious poeple tried to "help" fellow human beings from poor countries; but the same applies in Western countries) instead of praying for their soul and telling them they are going to go to Hell!

Facts are the truth, once realized.
Opinions are debateable
Right is right
Wrong is wrong
Salvation is relative
Eternity is too big a concept for mere mortals.
Trying to make a convert to a particular theology is only the theologian's opinion of what salvation is.
Regrets are salvageable if a person is willing to make amends.
Your asumption that the soul is immortal is wrong.
Also wrong is your assumption of eternal damnation.
Of course, that's only MY opinion.

Only through Jesus can one's soul be saved, but I think witnessing to someone and trying to help them believe that they can be saved from eternal damnation is the right thing to do. I believe that a Christian is supposed to tell others about God's love for them. Maybe by planting the seed, that person will ask for salvation...that will be their choice. These things I do believe.

the first question you mention is correct. Most belief is based on fact or faith, however, an opinion is the way in which one views that belief. It could be that if belief is based on fact then your opinion could be wrong, example, if I told you the blue in the sky's color is pretty and to the contrary you retort, the blue in the sky's color is ugly and needs to be darker. Fact is all of the natural colors of the world are beautiful. Your opinion like your question is way overthought and there is no point to be made. Stop arguing with yourself about things of no value and educate yourself by asking questions that will yield fruitful information that you may not find anywhere else.

Well, these days all kinds of folks are disputing the facts. IT's that new age thing where people think everyone can have a different truth.
No, it is NOT wrong to try to convert someone to save their soul. That's what we are suppose to do.
Don't let anyone try to tell you different.

Well first of all you are taken for granted that "right" and "wrong" are constants.... and they are not... Right and wrong are more of personal points of view... (normally they are social norms... Unless you are talking about laws.... But even in law a wrong (illigal act) can be done for the right reason... thats why we have lawers and Judges...
Second of all Theology is the study of thery... they are not normally the ones to try to convert people just study what others beileve and why they believe it... Most will not try to convert you but inform you of the facts of what you believe or not believe...
Last of all isn't it kinda wrong to try to inflect your personal beliefes on others? Wheter or not you think that you are right or wromg is not relivent..Unless that person is asking for your advice trying to convert them would be just using them.

Perhaps if you reiterate what you previously asked someone could better answer it. Now, the "immortal soul." I may sound like one of the people you refer to as "stupid," but I'll do my best. I have to go back to Adam when he ate from the tree of good and evil. Adam died spiritually. And since all of mankind arrives from Adam, each is born spiritually dead to God. That is why we must be "born again." That's why God sent Jesus to die for us, thus Jesus "bought us back."
Theologians are instrumental, but they are not the only ones who can lead someone to Christ. Now that you know the reason why we must be born again, you yourself can lead someone to Christ (if you, yourself, are born again). Romans 10:9 says that "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." Heck, we can request salvation through Christ Jesus ourselves for that matter, we don't have to go before a theologian. Still, we need to be fed and theologians (who we select very carefully) are instrumental in guiding us. (For better clarity, purchase "The 1,000 Year Survival Guide" @ survivalguide1000.com).
There are good people and there are bad people, but God only knows those who belong to Him. A spiritually dead person does not belong to Him, good or bad. Now, if I'm not on target with your answer, hopefully I'm close.
