I usually recommend people who are considering a lower-calorie diet to check out the website http://www.fitday.com. This handy site contains a wealth of information that will help you keep track of your daily food intake without having to resort to the pen and paper routine.

It is free and I've never been spammed by them.

1200 calories might be too low, especially if you are an active person. You should use fitday's calculators to determine what your average daily calorie burn is and consume 500 calories less than that to effectively lose weight safely.

Good luck.

You don't have to follow a specific diet to eat 1200-1500 calories a day. Get yourself a calorie counting book and read ALL your food labels and watch your portion control. That way you can eat whatever you want as long as you are keeping up with how many calories you are eating. Good Luck!

Read about the Trim Body System by Trim Advantage. That's the calorie range it sticks to. I lost 12 lbs. in the first week and 30 lbs. in the first 60 days. It rocks!

Good luck!
