The current Pope had a choice ... he chose to join up rather than suffer as a concientious objector. Do you think he was an appropriate choice for the head of a religious body ?

For the Jesus question... no. There's no evidence in his life that would suggest he would join that organization, willingly or otherwise, since he was perfectly willing to be beaten, whipped, tortured, mutilated, have large thorns nailed through his skull, marched through the burning desert carrying a huge log, be nailed to it, then have his legs broken and get stabbed to death.

Let's face it, the threat of pain and suffering didn't really seem to be a big deterrent to Jesus following his conscience.

As for the current Pope, I'm not a big fan of the Catholic church, but he's certainly not the worst example of a person they've ever had. Peruse some of the Popes who chose the name "Innocent" and "Pious" and see what they were like. Ratzinger seems like a very nice guy comparatively, so they could've done worse.

NO Jesus wouldn't have joined the Hitler youth. What an absurd question. Not being a catholic I can't say what the qualifications for pope should be but I certainly don't think they have had to have led sinless lives. They are men. Have you not read the Bible? Paul persecuted Christians. Think about that.

good point considering the new head Pope was a Nazi....and yeah I'm sure Jesus would have joined to convert Him. Just like He had dinner with the Tax collector.

Jesus would have led the Hitler movement.
Some people think Jesus was a Jew. That is a laugh. The Catholic church accepting a Jew as their God is like the KKK accepting Martin Luther King as their Great Wizard. Yeah! Right.

Well, there's a difference between having dinner with someone and joining a fringe movement in order to save them. Frankly, I don't think it's up to me to judge anyone. That's up to God. My job is to do the best that I can to live a Christian life, and to do what I can to help others. I leave the judging to my Father.

Sure ole pope is a Nazi. lets look at religion, for one a energetic leader is necessary. One who could lead his people to the "promised land" one who tells you how you should lead your life. Sets of rules- and punishment is due when you break them.-

Now who am I talking about- a religious leader like the pope or Hitler?

Put yourself in his shoes. What would you have done? Jesus was not a mere man. Don't compare him to the Pope.

Don't confuse Jesus with the pope, Jesus never would have done that.

what I do think is that you need to educate yourself with the truth about Jesus and his father God because it appears you do not know anything about them because if you did you would not ask that question because Hitler and his movement was all about killing and hurting people and on the other Jesus and his father God and their movement is all about love and is love and as for the Pope he has to answer for his wrong and you for yours and Hitler for his and me for mine you jerk get educated

No. Jesus had his own movement going on. He didn't bow down to the authorities if I read my bible right. He would have refused to do it on principal.
