It's generally considered non-sense that crunches will remove love handles / flab. If that would be the case, anyone who bought those ab-exercises on late night tv would have a ripped body. If all you did was crunches, you'd be left with hard abs surrounded by unsightly flab. So no one but you will be able to see / appreciate the hard work you did to achieve your abs because they'll be covered with flab.

To effectively lose flab / love handles, you must live a healthy lifestyle. That means being fit and doing at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise everyday. In addition, you may want to consider adding some strength training to help build muscle and make you look fit.

Ultimately, though, to get rid of flab, you must use (burn) more calories than you take in. No matter how many crunches you do, you aren't going to magically get rid of that flab unless your diet is in order.

Consider using a website such as http://www.fitday.com to account for your daily intake of food / exercise to make sure that you are not overconsuming. An overindulgence of calories is what is causing the flab on your love handles.

Did your mom, or other females in your family have them at that age? I was a size 6 at 5'9' in high school and had a stomach "pooch". I still have it and so do all my other female family members, as well as wide butts. It can be a hereditary physical attribute. All that aside, crunches (done properly) and side crunches (elbow to opposite knee) can really tighten that area. Crunches done improperly can cause low back problems, so learn how to do them the right way! Don't worry about a little flab. It is best to be healthy by eating right and keeping active.

ur still growing true but in the meantime you should do some sit ups or crunches but remember this it will not have any affect if you dont do cardio with it. run up and down the some steps or jog for 45 min a couple days out the week u will see changes if u keep at it. again crunches alone wont help anything

Doing crunches works well but to get rid of love handles try crunches where you twist a bit at the waist ( I know there is a name for this type of crunch, just can´t remember it.) You twist slighty to the right of left and feel the "burn " almost exactly in the love handle area. They also help strengthen the lower back.

if i were you, i would wait till i was older, because while ur still growing, you don't want to over work your body. just if your really skinny already, don't obcess over it, it could lead to anorexia or bulemia(idk how to spell that sorry) and that never turns out pretty. just live a happy life and don't worry too much! :)

wait until your older and your love handles can cause back trouble. Talk to your parents about it.
