First off you have to have sex with someone who is infected with the HIV virus which will eventually(years down the line) turn into full blown aids. It can also be passed sharing needles with someone who is infected. It sometimes takes years before the virus shows up unless you get yourself tested regularly.Once you have it, you're stuck with it for life. There are medications to take to keep it in check though, but life will never be the same again. Everything changes once you are infected, so take care.
