I am taking a combination of Lamictal and Seroquel for bipolar 1 and impulsiveness during the normal periods between shifts. No rash. No negative side effects at all for me. Nothing but good things to say.. been on it for a couple years. The best thing out there so far ... for me.
I have mellowed out a lot from the seroquel and have had a welcome improvement over the extreme ups and downs. Give it a try.. be wary of the rash.. start very low for a dosage and work your way up to whatever makes you comfortable.. but be aware that it is common knowledge that the risk of developing this rash increases in proportion to dosage and jumping straight to a high dosage. make sure you go over this with your doctor. or read up on it yourself before you go .. it is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome and is worth all the fanfare because it is potentiall deadly if not caught right away.
Lamictal gets a big thumbs up from me :)

Yes, I took it for about a year to stabilize my moods. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, rapid-cycling bipolar 2, and schizoaffective disorder. It helped some, but I got a lot more out of talk therapy than out of medication. It can also cause terrible rashes as well as acne. It gave me extreme dry mouth for about the first month I was on it and for two or three weeks every time my disage was raised, but that can be avoided by drinking lots of water.

Yes. I have Asperger Syndrome (a disorder on the high-functioning end of the autistic spectrum). I take it for mood stabilization and have for the past 3 years. I noticed a marked difference within weeks of taking it (for the better). No one drug works for anyone-I am living proof of that. Don't be surprised at the varied responses.

Yes I have. I thought it was terrible. I felt like ripping peoples heads off. It took me into my anger moods and made me tired and sluggish. I am now on Effexor and it helps me 100% better.
