We have entered the age of HYPERREALITY. The 'real' is now only simulated by signs...
The sign (in our capitalist world is MONEY), starts off as a reflection of our basic reality...
Then it masks and perverts reality...
Then it makrs the absence of reality...
Finally, it bears no relation to reality whatsoever; it is a pure simulacrum.

Simulacra can still dictate our existence, but the existence they create is meaningless and inexplicable.

According to Kevin Phillips in American Theocracy it is about securing an underdeveloped source of Oil. For the most part, the US hit peek oil in 1970, our own production has declined ever since. Bush and Cheney wanted to secure Iraq's supplies before Saddam soil it to the EU or China. The rest has to do with the fundamentalist view of the world. Again, I would refer you back to Phillips book. Or for a shorter read you might try Bushwhacked Nation from lulu.com

It is about family. Mine is growing & we are going to be patriotic & set a good example for young people who obviously do not understand how lucky they are to live in the United States of America. We have heat, air conditioning, cars, schools, good jobs if we work for them, shopping malls with great shoes, parks, & police & the military to keep us safe. "What a Country".
