My daughter is turning 12 years old and she's having a birthday in July. She does not like stuff like barbie, dancing, and she is not allowed to have a sleepover.

July is a perfect time to have the party outdoors, perhaps in a park where they can run around and play games, you can get a pinata and tie it to a tree( kids love it!), set up a volley ball net etc.. have finger foods and cake,. plus the best part of having the party at a park is your house does not get destroyed!

Get her a gift certificate to a shop she likes. Maybe you should surprise her with a surprise sleepover birthday party. (this would probably be the best since part of being a girl is sleepovers and keeping this away from her is taking a way a certain amount of development) She is old enough for sleepovers.

If you live near a beach a surprise beach birthday party might be nice for your daughter.
Or a back yard picnic birthday party with the sprinklers going so the girls can run through it and get one of those water sheets or whatever the call them, for the kids to slide on while the water is running through it.
I did this one for my sons birthday and everybody had the greatest time too.
Saved the house from becoming a total mess too by having everything outside. Heck, even our dog got into it too and he slid down the sheet (or whatever it's called) and he got soaked as well. I just can't remember the name of the sheet to slid on but you should be able to find one most anywhere they sell kids pools and other water related items.
Enjoy!

Go to Lastminute.com and check their suggestions - they have some really excellent ideas like naming a star, which I think would be fab for a 12 year old. Either that or give her a day out, to a wildlife park / zoo or somewhere like that - let her choose and, when you get there, let her decide where to go, what to see and when. It'll make her feel really grown up and the two of you will get to spend some quality time together. My niece chose Kew Gardens in London for a day out (she's 13) and loved being able to decide what order we saw things in, it was all up to her and loads of fun for me!

Think more on the lines of turning "21" LOL!! Thats what most 12 year old girls want to look like and act like if they are not the opposite of that as in tomboy ect. So, clothes, music, wall posters too, an mp3 player.....

well i've just turned 13 so i still no what feeling 12 is like...i think you should ask her what she wants to do if you choose it for her she might not like it the things you have saud are whta she is not allowed to do maybe you should think wat se is allowed and what she likes and you'll find your answer maybe take her and her friends go rockcliming or swimming.
whatever you do try and avoid the cimema because all you do id sit down and watch films and you have to be quiet and then if you want to supervise he party she wont be open enough as she may want to be with her friends, remember its her special day dont lay down too many rules for and be calm and organised have everything booked on time hope you get the party you want dont intrude on it too much...hopes its perfect....syedaxxxwish her happy birthday from me will you
her.

Have her invite three of her closest friends over for a pizza party. Get her a couple pairs of shorts and shirts for summer. The party can be a beach theme. There are lots of paper products at at this time of year in that theme. For fun, they can have a water balloon fight, unless you have a pool, in which case they can go swimming. Have each friend bring their towel and bathing suit.

Have fun!!

Have a spa retreat for just a couple of her friends. Check out your local spa..sometimes they have packages which are not that expensive. The girls can get their hair, nail and pedicure done and chit chat all day long over lunch, pool etc... I would look in the back of the kids magazine...there are always fun and creative ideas for kids.

then treat her and her friends to pizza, go to a restaurant or the mall and buy her things u noe shell like. or u culd let her go with her friends to the movies and then pick them up from the theater and take them to pizza. (if u go with them to the movies she might get embarrassed that her mom r whoever is with her is going with her. also u might not like the movie she and her friends want to watch so let them enjoy their movie by themselves)
and some good present ideas r a gift card, earrings, rings, jewelry, books, cd/dvds, etc
good luck
