Because they are using their FEAR based imagination.

Some people are mean because they imagine that no one cares... when it is THEMSELVES that doesn't care about themselves.

Sometimes people are mean because they've had allot happening in their day already and they are tired and imagine they out of patience.

Some people don't really know they are being "mean" because they behave the same way they've been treated, so they think it is okay,

Some people are afraid of other people and try to hurt them before they imagine they will be hurt.

Some people are mean because they imagine that if no one SEES them do whatever, it is okay or didn't really even "happen".

Some people are mean, because it is the only way they know how to get attention.....

Some people are mean, to give others the opportunity to be MORE.

Most of the time, people that are mean have no clue that what they are doing is hurting themselves.

I am not mean!! Well, sometimes I get in a bad mood and can take it out on people but 99% of the time I am an angel.

Now in Yahoo answers there are some people that ask really ignorant questions, racist questions, sexist questions, or even ones that are trying to solicit children for sex. I can get mean to those people.

Not all people are anything. Some people are mean, yes. There are as many "reasons" for the meanness as there are individuals. Maybe their daddy beat them, or maybe their momma weaned them too soon, or maybe their boss is a jerk, or their wife is shrew, or their bunyans ache, or they didn't get enough sleep or or or or....
The trick, muirnin, is to see that it probably has nothing to do with you. Don't take it personally. Let a smile be your umbrella. Like water off a duck's back.

Because most people do not realize that we are all one, and that when you hurt another, you hurt yourself.

By all one, I mean that we are all parts of the same source energy (God, if you will). Just as a drop of water from the ocean is the same as the ocean, made of the same substance, when all the drops are put together in the same body they are the ocean.

So it is with all souls, (non-physical, spirit, human, animal, vegetation and inanimate (ie: earth, air, fire, water etc), in relation to God. We are each an individuation of the same whole, of life. When you hurt one, you you hurt all, including the self.

We live in an illusion of separation. In reality, we are a collective.

IT feels good to be mean some times
it feels good to call some one a name and know that they are hurt you are releasing the anger that you feel inside of you. The thing is most of the time when you are mean you dont mean what you say you sorta just say it.....saying what you feel is the best way to go...even though you are hurting the person that you are being mean to you still feel that rush of happiness for a second knowing that you are better then the person becuz you called them a name like....LOSER!!!!
