The best thing to do is get a scratching post and other toys to keep them happy and if you catch them on the curtains take them to the scratching post and put their paws on it. If they scratch it then give them a treat and tell them they are such a good kitty. After doing this a few times they will get the idea and leave the curtains alone.
My husband did this with a cat he bottle fed and she never scratches anything but a scratching post.

Tie the curtains up so its too high for them to climb. My kitten likes playing in the litter box too, so I'm still working on pulling her away.

When ever the kitten is on the curtains then just spray it with a squirt gun, or something, then do that every time it does something that you dont like, then it should learn in time.

trim their claws. It helps prevent cats from clawing all furniture. Try to catch them and squirt them with water. Try some of those store bought powders and sprays that stop cats from clawing/peeing on stuff.

get a water pistol, or squirt bottle, a few blasts of cold water will stop a cute little kitty instantly.
