I don't 'hate' anyone but I am sick to death of certain religious types who go around spreading lies and misconceptions about other religions when 1.) they know nothing about them but what their holy books says, 2.) use tracts from obviously biased sources (i.e. Chick tracts), 3.) harass other religions, 4.) blatantly go around being discriminatory, 5.) do all that then complain they are SO harassed and are persecuted.

I wouldn't exactly say I am a basher but I do believe that Christianity is forced on the U.S. in a whole ie. some of the laws in the US should be challenged or rethought and it seems due to some christian beliefs they are kept the way they are; outdated and misunderstood. I know religion and politics are supposed to be separate but it seems they are not. Also I think your first statement "Why does it bother you so much what others believe?"sums up why sometimes I look down on the christian religion they seem to care so much about what everyone else is doing. I think if you live your life as a good hearted person God will love you no matter what religion, race, or sexual pref. and I don't think any religion should stop or discourage those things like some do. I was raised catholic but I believe whats in my heart about God not a book or what a priest etc. tells me. This is what I alone concluded out of what I have been taught and life exp. there is no person or article that has persuaded me.

I don't hate christians, christians hate me. I am not relgious because of all the hatred taught by religions. I didn't have any real ideas about religion until I moved to West Texas and then I had people throwing their bibles at me (since you are a religious person I feel I need to explain that I mean that figuratively) and shoving their religion down my throat (again, figuratively). I heard so much about "Good Christians" that would go home and rape their daughters. Good christians that are drug addicts and others that talk about n*ggers (not my word, theirs) not having a soul and so on. So, it's christians themselves that made me a non-believer and search for a better religion. After spending some time doing research I found that there isn't a religion that makes any sense. They are all silly and based on books that are mostly fiction based on a few facts. I have no hatred towards christians, muslims, buddhists or any relgion. I don't like hate. I don't believe in hate. It's a wasted emotion, well, except the Dallas Cowboys, I really do hate them (oh, I feel I have to explain that that is a tongue in cheek joke. Not sure if you can understand that either).

Define "christian bashing".
Some christians would lie and say that pointing out the christianity of Dennis Rader (the BTK killer) or publishing the names of catholic priests is "christian bashing". Some would also commit historical revisionism (eg. the lie of "under god" always being in the US pledge) and call it "christian bashing" to expose such lies. In reality, the only "christian bashing" is the deliberate targeting of christians for assault, arson and murder, among other crimes. (But that's not happening in any "western country", is it?) For the most part (eg. Pat Robertson) "christian bashing" is as genuine a claim as blaming the jews for kristalnacht; the liars are the true threats. The question is, where do you stand?
Putting that aside for a moment, let's talk about "faith". You have a right to believe, only a rare few disagree with that. But in an open forum such as this where there is no moderator, it would be naive for you or others to expect or demand silence from those who disagree with you.
If you want censorship of those you disagree with, post on somewhere like beliefnet where they openly censor views they don't like. Otherwise in Yahoo answers, if you can say "god" exists, I can say there's no proof of one. That's not "christian bashing", it's free speech and equal rights...unless you're against that too, of course.

I don't hate them Christians. But I do not approve of the way they burned non-believers at the stake and executed them in any number of atrocious ways. I also don't approve of the way Christians molest their choir boys. I also believe that this religion can still be used as justification to murder millions just like they did in the Crusades and the Inquisition. The Church blocked scientific advancement for thousands of years because they didn't want to lose their authority to be able to kill anyone at anytime. Only terrible things can come from Christianity.

Well I'm a Christian and I think the reason why so many people bash Christianity is because of those groups who harrass people with their belief, not to mention the whole gay thing, or the you'll go to hell if you don't do this....and that...

I have nothing against christians for what they believe I respect what they believe in, but I have been around christians my whole life, I was one at one point in my life. I have went to several different churches of different denominations, and I have seen that most are hypocrites, they claim to be righteous and they are far from it... They pretend that they live their lives the way god wants them to yet when they arent in church their actions proove otherwise. Almost all christians I have met are closed minded and refuse to believe in any other possibilities. They refuse even to acknowledge anything then their beliefs... And I have seen these so called righteous people doing things far from what christians should do. I have also noticed how christians are so judgemental, which it says in the bible you shouldnt be... you know judge not lest ye be judged. Even online on Y answers. Im not saying no man is without sin but if you believe in christs message then you should try and follow by his word. You cant force your religion on others. You should only tell them your beliefs, you shouldnt say you are going to hell if you dont do this and dont do that... If god exists and we are all doing wrong then maybe its true but there are other ways to express your beliefs and to help people rather than forcing your religion down their throats... You can educate others and provide a good arguement without cramming your religion down their throat and without putting them down.... I have just seen to much negativity in christians that really turns me off when it comes to religion... Yes I acknowledge that god could exist... even if it isnt my beliefs... I acknowledge their religion why dont they acknowledge mine, it doesnt mean they are questioning their beliefs it just means that they are opening their minds to other possibilities and that not all people believe the way that they do and they should respect their point of view... Even if they do think its wrong. You have to be respectful... Thats some of the many reasons I am turned off to christianity... I am one to question everything around me. I dont limit the possibilities to one way... I believe in all possibilities... I think its good to be a free thinker and question everything including your surroundings and the origin of man... Im not going to limit myself to other possibilities... and if one day I come to a revelation about religion and I can prove to myself that god is real and he exists and everything is true... Then I think its wonderful but as for now I just dont believe... I have been there, and I really have read and listened to the bible.. and to preachers who taught the word of god... but I also question and look at things from my own individual perspective...
awesome question thanx for bringing that up

Vice President George Bush (bozo's daddy) in 1987:
"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God."

You seem to be confused about who is bashing whom.

It's not hatred, it's defense, and when they stop pointing their fingers at non-religious people and condemning them to an eternity of suffering, then the bashing will stop.
