Yes, I play pool. You need to find a cue that has a good tip and feels good in your hand. Plan on spending a couple hundred dollars for a solid cue, most cues you get for under 100 dollars are just glorified bar cues. Plan on spending a couple hundred and look at btrands like Mcdermott, viking and some other quality brands, then you know youre getting a good cue.

How the cue feels. Can you hold the cue ball. Or is the cue ball flying all over the table. As far a pool player . Most pool players are evaluated on their consistancy. Whether they make one ball then miss one ect. Or whether you can consistantly run about 6 or 7 balls at a time. Then their dangers like in eight ball and in nine ball. Most professional player play what is call (race to 11). In other word who ever wins 11 games first wins the money. It eliminates luck from the game.

I play pool hope to be a player someday.

When buying a cue or even picking one from the rack, make sure it fells good in your hand. You know it's right when it feels like a part of your arm not a stick(Good luck still looking after 30 years).

Tip is the most important after that, I prefer a small rounded tip however again it's what you like, you can work on the tip yourself with sand paper, Always chalk after every shot
