Im serious
My friends little sister was raped when she was only 4 years old by her step dad,and the guy who did it is still out there. The girl is 10 years old now and she a girl friend instead of a boyfriend. Is this just a phase or has that traumatic experience turned her into a lesbian.? The girl's mother still has her new boyfriends around the girl and she doesn't like to be alone with them, should I report this since her mother and sister act as if they do not care?

At 10, shes probably exploring her sexuality in a way that feels safe to her. Many women who were abused as children will become sexual much earlier than their peers- it puts the control in *their* hands, vs. at the hands of someone else if that makes sense. It could be a phase, it could be that she's a lesbian- but really, does it matter? She needs help in other areas and that will help her figure out her sexuality along the way.

Is the child in danger? Is the mother getting help for the daughter? Can you talk to the mother about getting help for the daughter? It sounds like you care about her very much and she is very lucky to have you looking out for her. Of course the little girl does not want to be around the boyfriends alone after her experience!

A report probably wouldn't yeild much, to tell you the truth. :( Unless the child is being *currently* abused, CPS won't really get involved. It's not illegal to not get therapy, ykwim?

Good luck with this incredibly sad and frustrating situation. Maybe you can talk to a counselor about it? (I don't know how old you are, but) maybe a school counselor? They will have access to ideas, routes, and options that you might not.

Report it. Don wait a second longer. What on earth is a 10 yr old seeing someone for? I think the mother has been reckless..where are the mothers when the bfs/husbands are screwing around with their daughters? Yes the traumatic experience has affected her sexual choices. She's scared of men, which is why i feel her mother's "boyfriends" are doing the same thing to her again. hey better to be safe than sorry. best of luck. hope u can get her damn step dad caught too. ASSHOLES!

It might be a good idea to report this. Kids who are molested often act out sexually as they get older. Some will have sex at an early age, have sex with too many partners, even become prostitutes. This kid needs counseling. It's sad because she should have started receiving counseling at age 4 when the abuse was found out. It doesn't sound like she is in a stable, loving environment. It's very sad when kids like this fall through the cracks, do whatever you can to help her. It sounds like you are responsible person, kudos to you.

Definitley Report this. And any mother that lets her daughter date at 10 (or for that matter have lesbian experiences at 10) seriously needs mental help. Please Report this. That man should not be roaming free and this family doesnt sound normal.

I think u should repotr this but try not to hurt this girl more... I think that the fact she has a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend is sure because after what her step father did, she's scared of boys

Should anyone have a boyfriend or girlfriend at age 10? Have her tell her guidance counselor about it and report this to the authorities. Report this definitly.

Report what exactly? There is no abuse currently. At 10 years old this little giel doesnt know if what she wants, if her mother lets her date that is their business at this point.
I hate to say it but there is really nothing for yo to do here

Absolutely, The bastard who committed that act should be hung
in a public square. You might try talking to a counselor at your school, or ask an adult that you trust. Whatever you do, it is a great thing that you show compassion for the girl involved.
You are obviously a super person.!!!!!!
Sincerely, JERRY. PS. Have a great life!!!!!!!!!

Interesting! I would talk to her first and see what she thinks before any reporting. Take her to a non-profit councelors in your area. If that is what she is interested --- let her go with her ideas. After all the Vice President of our country is an example

I don't think anyone can do anything about it, unless they're breakin the law. That's a really sad story. My question is why is a 10 year old dating in the first place.
