Even if I DO know how to spell words correctly or use grammar rules appropriately, most of the times I don't when I'm on Internet, especially on Yahoo!Messenger. When you are chatting , you tend to write with the same speed that you think. It's not possible to aim to get everything right, unless You take your time or have spellings on your priority list.

I thought the same thing when I first started Yahoo! Answers. I think it might have to do with all these text messages and emails sent through the mobile phone - it simply destroys good spelling. Having said that, those little spelling and grammar mistakes actually grows on you - relax and just absorb the atmosphere and the amusing answers, intelligent answers and the quirky answers.

I am very proud of my spelling ability! I do lack in my grammar, and I think some of it has to do with being lazy! People these days don't want to take the time to do things properly, because it takes too much time :-( sad. (I speak for those who have grown up speaking/writing english primarily)

because many of us are not from the US or another English speaking country and although i use the spell check and own a dictionary still sometimes a mistake appears in my text.
that's the drama with English being the number 1 internationally spoken language, you have to deal with "ignorants" like us :) !!!!!!!

I would tell you, but if our grammar and spelling is so bad, you wouldn't understand any of our answers anyway.

I guess most people answering here are not native speakers of English - they are not American, Irish, Scottish, English, Australian etc (I'm speaking from experience).
Maybe we are just trying to get some points...
