im really nervous about the dance with my dad. ive never been close with him but he wants to have a daughter/father dance. we dont even hug. although hes not paying for my wedding, im dancing with him anyway. i cant find a song because all the ones ive looked up are songs about how great the father is/how much she loves him, etc. i feel like ive been through every single song and none of them seem to fit...... any suggestions please?

how about "I hope you dance" by LeAnn Womack? it just talks about hoping the other person sees the good in life..

I agree with I hope you dance. I am not close with my father either and that is the song we will be dancing to at my wedding. I mean if I could find a song that says I dont really know you and this extremely akward I would use that.

Well, maybe this is a time to be close to him. There is no time like the present. He obviously wants a father/daughter dance for a reason. Maybe sit down with him and choose a song together that you are both comfortable with. Its hard for me to suggest one because I've never been in your position. I've always had a great relationship with my father so we danced to Because You Loved Me. I agree with the person who suggested I Hope You Dance. That is a great song so try listening to it.

Dance with my father by Luther Vandross is a really nice song to dance to or I Miss You by TLC, One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey and Boys II Men, or Sara Smile by Hall & Oates

Silver Springs, by Fleetwood Mac? I was going to use that one but then realized that it was mostly about how the dad wasn't there for her. I don't know if you really want to send a message like that, but you could probably go look up the lyrics online and see if it works.

You do not have to pick a song that talks about fathers or anything. I recommend a classic like "what a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong.

Through The Years by Kenny Rogers. That's what my dad and I danced to and we have the same situation as you and your dad. Good luck it will be fine.

Choose " Dance with my father again" by Luther Vandross. And dont be nervous. He's just asking you this toget closer to you. Take it in stride.
