Okay, after about 5 minutes, i got a lot of stupid *** answers. First off, you people have no clue, you can't even begin to comprehend what being a Catholic means or what the religion is about. Have you studied it? or even been Catholic? And about the molestations...did you hear about the pastor whose wife owned a day care and he molested over 15 little girls, no, it's all the f-ing press. and they are not "out dated". it's called tradition.

I'm not Catholic but this is how I view it. There are always going to be people who hate Catholics. My guess is that a lot of these people have been misinformed about the Catholic faith. A popular thing I hear is that Catholics worship saints. I know it's not true but there are a lot of people who don't know. There are people who automatically assume it's true and they decide to hate all Catholics. (I'm not saying that everyone hates Catholics when they hear rumors. I'm only saying that some do).

The hate is not limited to the Catholics either. I've seen a lot of people who assume things about my religion and they'll say things like I've been brainwashed and can't think for myself. I can choose to go to church or stay home. There are so many things I could do that I choose not to do. So, obviously, it's not true. They just don't want to take the time to understand my beliefs.

Don't worry. Not everybody hates Catholics :)

Being a confirmed catholic, I have pondered this so I did a little more digging. Quite frankly. We have a bad reputation when compared to the rest of the world's organised religons. The whole thing with the child molesting priests is just the tip of the iceberg. In the name of god, the catholic church has perpertrated crimes and atrocities abound throughout history. Just read a couple of history books and see for yourself. I'm not saying that catholicism is bad. I still believe but will not attend mass. As my research has taught me that the true evil lies in the idea of oganized religion itself. Money, power, intolerance, etc.

I really think this a deep rooted dislike going back to when the Protestants began to break away from Catholicism. The Catholic religion at that time was a governing force and those who stayed were subject to hatred. The dislike and criticism has been passed down through the generations.

[To: toerag] Actually the Catholic Church restricts it's members from being Masons, so umm, you're an idiot.
[To:Only Christ boy] Scripture isn't the only source of inspired revelation. We interpret Scripture through the beliefs of the Early Church, which had VERY CATHOLIC BELIEFS. Try reading the Church Fathers. Just because it isn't in the Bible does not mean it is satanic. In John's Gospel it even says that not everything Jesus did was recorded, because it would be impossible to record everything he did and taught.

The catholic religion follow their own rules. It like they are stuck in the old testement. the religion has idiols and the religion answers to a human called the Pope. I though we were to answer to God. We can't pick and choose what we want. catholics don't get Bapitized down in to water they sprinkle a baby who has no idea what is going on. No babys got bapitized in the Bible. They were all adults. What Jesus did in Bible died with him on the cross. Jesus saved people because he can and that went away when he died. We have to follow the rules that he set forth in the Bible. Just read the New Testement and you can learn what is right.

Well some people (catholics ) are just too proud and stubborn, however it is the church that is more likely hated than the people. The catholic church murdered millions of christians and non-christians over nearly 1000 years. They are yet to repent. The catholic church is more interested in keeping power than serving God.

Because there have been high profile cases of priests molesting little boys. Priests are never supposed to have sex with anyone especially a child of the opposite sex. They're not even allowed to get married

The Catholic Church is of God. That being the case, Satan is going to through everything he can at Catholics, Christians in general, in order to undermine the faith of as many people as possible.

It's that simple, really.

i think there is a fine line between catholism and devil worshipping. also the whole basis of the roman religion is supression. there is also an elist part of this church which i personally find is akin the masonic associations. In short, it makes people slaves to outdated beliefs

I don't know anyone who hates Catholics. My brother married
a Catholic girl-we were raised Presbyterian-and they raised
three kids who are officially Catholic. Anyone who hates others
because of their religious affiliation is nothing more than a bigot.
Unfortunately we have more than enough of them around.
