I think it's just a way to scare people into converting. The way I see it, if a couple of religions say you're going to suffer eternally for not becoming part of them, that's the same way a bully would say he's going to kick your f.ing a$$ if you don't cough up your lunch money.

religion is a man made way of controlling the masses and god, in any format, was invented by man not the other way around so there will be no punishment for disbelieving

OK you get another chance ;-).....
Why do we need Jesus? Why do we need salvation?
Let's start with the beginning, Adam & Eve. What really happened when they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? They not only got to know evil, they took part in it. When God created us we were perfect! He created us in His own image.
Through disobedience, evil became a part of us. It became part of our nature. I don't need to tell you what this evil looks like, the evidence is all around us.
In Jesus, God provided a way for us, to overcome this evil. We can receive forgiveness for our sins and start living the way God intended us to live. Through Jesus, we can overcome our sinful nature and receive a new heart. That is, if we want to.
God promised that He would make a new heaven and a new earth. Evil however, will have no part in this new earth. That's why not everybody will go there! If we were all given a perfect new planet tomorrow, what do you think would happen? We would destroy it, just like we are destroying this one!
Hell is not so much a punishment, but a place to confine evil, a place, where evil can cause no more harm. Satan will one day be thrown into hell and with him those, who decided to hold on to sin and rejected salvation. We can not spend eternity with God unless we become holy like He is!

Your question: "Why is the punishment for not accepting Jesus eternal damnation? "

The answer: We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus bridged the gap between man and God. If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we have been forgiven of our sins, and if we continue to follow in the direction Jesus has for us we are permitted to enter into the gates of heaven.

Also God is boss and He made the rules. If you have a problem with the rules take it up with God. Only God can change the rules.

Ok obviously you are questioning the existance of God and the claims of Jesus (Yeshewa). If you were to pick up the Bible and perhaps open it you would find that Jesus fulfilled evey prophesy given in the Old testiment. He withstood the scourging before being placed on the cross. During the entire time on the cross he spoke of his care, forgiveness and love for others. And now he gives us believers faith and hope beyong the grave. Do you see anything bad in all of this, I don't. Try experiancing the bible before you criticize it and people who believe. If you believe and the bible is wrong what have you lost? If you don't believe and the bible is true...you've lost everything.

Going to hell is not the punishment for not accepting Jesus. There isn't a punishment for not accepting Jesus. We are being punished for sin. We are conemned to hell from birth for sin. Jesus made a way out of the punishment we were facing. Dying of a sickness you have is not a punishment for not taking medicine. You were ALREADY sick and dying and the medicine was an OPTIONAL way for you to be saved from it. Better wise up on your theology. You've been graciously provided a way out of your already sucky situation. Without Jesus you are going to hell. And like it or not, God is real and this is how it works, don't like it? Submit anyway.

You need to know what eternal damnation is first. Jesus spoke about fire, but we don't actually know what it will be like and by talking of fire he may have been trying to convey the impression of what it feels like to be damned for ever.
What is this damnation then? I believe and I think many would agree with me that it is the absence of God, ie the damned will never know God.
Now to answer your question, If you do not accept Jesus in this life, how can you expect to be with him in the next.
God Bless You.

It's a choice we are given by God, in that (through Jesus) God made a way to spend eternity with Him. That would be in heaven where God wants ALL of us and if we choose to not accept the way God has provided for us (through Jesus), then we choose to spend eternity apart from all the greatness of God. And what's left is ......... well, not good. Would you like someone to spend eternity or even a year with you if they didn't want to be there? It's not that people want you to convert to their way of thinking , but to God's way of thinking. That's desiring to have everyone in heaven by choice.

Satan has his children - Psalm 58:3, John 8:37-47, 1 John.3:8-10, 12, 1 Matthew 13:38, Revelation 2:9 below.

God’s children do not commit sin (1 John.3:8-10 below).

Ps.58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

1 Jn.3:8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 Jn.3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his (God’s) seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 Jn.3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1 Jn.3:12 Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one (Jn.8:44 above), and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Matt.13:38The field is the world; the good seed are the CHILDREN of the kingdom; but the tares are the CHILDREN of the wicked one (1 Jn.3:12, Jn.8:44 above);

Re.2:9I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (Jn.8:37-47).

I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, that grew up to despise me and everything I stood for. She hasn't spoken to me for two years. At the age of 16 she went to live with her father so she could party all she wanted and not take responsibility for her actions. She disses me, talks about me and ignores me. So there is no way I want her in my home or to bestow gifts on her. If she said she was sorry, and loved me. I would welcome her with open arms. God is the same....He said... If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my father. If you don't give him the time of day and diss him, you are not going to get your inheritence or be blessed....Its that simple

eternal damnation is the way Christan religion keeps it's people under control, and keeps them coming back. No other religion keeps the concept of "HELL" and "DAMNATION". It's purely Christan.
