It's not about upgrading your skills.
Try getting involved in something you really enjoy like sports, comics, dance, mopping...whatever.
Through becoming involved in something you meet people. My bet you just haven't met the right people yet.

Just be yourself, don't try to change, because if you do, everyone will notice (even if they knew you or not) and you could become ridiculous. Find the things that represent you (you either like sports, or school, or poker, or hard-working or porn etc.) and try to get connected with people who love the same things or share the same ideas.
Anyway, try to get your self-respect back and believe in your strenghts and qualities.
Good luck, I personally think you are going to manage it, since you had the nuts to admit the "problem"

Don't worry, try to involve yourself something like member of a short course about anything you like, music, reading books, in the morning you may be start morning walk , after that you will feel that many persons like you are enjoying good health and cheerfulness will be able to make you friendly to involve any matter you are interested, involve yourself in any kind of job , you will meet may persons .

alright well- do you wear clothes that just scream "don't talk to me, I bite!" wear colorful clothes but don't dress like an idiot LOL!! just be out going, and the more poeple u start up a conversation with, the more likely you'll find one that u click with!! good luck!

Don't try to be someone you're not. Just do the things that you like to do, and find friends who are into the same things as you.
