If some people hate to be preached to because of their guilty conscience, why do they go to the "Religion and Spirituality" section of YA?

Is it like a moth being attracted to a flame?

Your answered your own question ! Their guilty conscience is condemning them! That's why that are asking questions. A moth on the other hand always flies by the light of the moon. They get distracted by other lights.

i think the answers given so far amount to utter nonsense just as with the assumption "because of their guilty conscience" notion in the question.

i come here often for the exchange of ideas. I speak my piece, and I read that of others. I have no guilty conscience. Christianity is not the only religion represented by the questions and the answers and the variety of contributions can stimulate objective thinking. Often the viewpoints of atheists and agnostics are worth reading too.

That is a good analogy - a moth attracted to a flame. Flame is light, God is light. Perhaps those who come to this section of Yahoo! Answers are subconsciously searching for their light and hope to find a word, phrase or message that will speak to their hearts and lead them to the light - God.

Just a wild guess, but it could be precisely because it says "Yahoo Answers," not "Yahoo Sermons."

Let me break down that down for you if it's too complicated. Here are the rules:
1. Someone asks a question
2. Other people answer it

We sometimes go there to argue about different beliefs and philosophies. No one is being preached there if u ask all the right questions.

Lmao.....very good question! I think it's because they want to give us believers a hard time. To rationalize their belief in nothing or to rationalize their lusts and greed without fear of penalty. Therefore there is no God or they believe in a consciousness that does not judge. Wish I had the answer....great question though.

They want to rile people up and probably just looking for a fight. I find alot of these questions rather amusing though.

I love the whole "forcing religion on someone". I think people need to realize that to those who believe, if you do not believe, then you will not be able to spend your eternal life in Heaven with the Lord as we were meant to be. Satan wins, and us Christians do not want Satan to win, we want the world to spend their eternal life with us. It's our belief, if you dont want to believe we cant force you to believe.

It hink for some-they are looking for something in their lives and are drawn to
religion-but they are also fighting it within themselves.

For others-I think they're just trying to stir up trouble-hey they're going to get points for it after all. Sad, eh?

Not to get preached to but to have questions answered. Preaching is not answering questions it is dictating.

I have no guilty conscience but what gives you ignorant god bothering bastards the right to force your childish opinions on us?
