After the 07 model comes out around AUG or SEP you can get a good deal on a leftover 06 model. An even greater deal can be had by buying a leftover 06 after the 08 models come out.

Between Christmas and New Years. The dealers are winding up the month, the 4th quarter, and the year. They'll do anything for a sale since these numbers will determine their allocation of vehicles for the next year.

Car dealers do very poor business during December because of the holidays. Not many people buy cars then; when was the last time you got a car for Christmas or bought one for someone?

Also, any leftover cars from the prior model year will be discounted severely just to clear them off the lot. If there are any leftover '06s in December, you should be able to buy one well below invoice.

If you don't want to wait until then, the end of any month (except May) is a pretty good time to get a deal. Also, the end of the quarters in March, June, and Sept are good times as well. At the end of the month or quarter they're trying to meet their sales targets and are often more willing to deal.

Near the end of Sept is probably the best next to December for getting a great deal on last year's models as they want the space for new models which have just been released.

Take advantage right now as the 2006 Ford F-Series pickups are being forced off dealer lots to make room for the '07 models. Now is the time, man! Closeout season is here!

is the f 150 a new one? or used? new, end of the month is the best time to buy. the dealer doesn't what to pay for that truck to sit on their lot another month. their are more rebates coming has the new model years approches. has it goes into the next model year the rebates go higher cause they want to move out the older cars and trucks. used it doesn't matter what time of the month or year it is. the deal aready owns the truck

Seems to me that there are more incentive programs offered/available during the summer months.

On a somewhat related topic, I like the age-old adage that you should buy a vehicle that was assembled on a Monday or Tuesday as opposed to a Friday.

The "logic" behind that statement is that employees are more focused early in the work week and more anxious, less focused later in the week.

Late fall through winter. Typically people don't want to go out and walk around lots that time of year so dealerships are dropping prices trying to draw people in. I worked at a dealership for about 6 years!

I usually go right after Xmas when no one has any money left. Get estimate over the Internet first, then compare and deal. Don't go to Early to the Dealership. I go after7pm when they are all worn out. In Miami the Dealerships are all open kinda late anyway.

The best time to buy isn't actually a time of year...the best time to go out and buy is on the soggiest rainiest day you can fine, especially if it's on a Saturday. Most dealers do most of their volume on Saturday & if it is raining outside, they nknow not too many people are gonna be out looking for a vehicle, they'll do their best to keep you thier and get as many deals as possible...
