I'd prefer the surgery stayed expensive... The cost goes to pay for expensive quality equipment and good doctors who have done this surgery a lot. I would be wary if the doctor did it for cheap!

Insurance doesn't cover this because it's not required for good health-- in most cases you can wear glasses or contacts and still see well.

Lasix is considered a form of plastic surgery. Thats why its not covered by insurance. Its not medically needed.

Any surgery is expensive. Lasix isn't covered by insurance because it isn't considered medically necessary.

All health care procedures are expensive. How else are health care workers able to live so high on the hog? Lasix is not considered NECESSARY surgery, it is elective surgery.

Because the equipment costs so much. And, considering what you are probably going to get, its not that bad a cost.

If you are considering getting it done, read up on the procedure and the complications that can arise. I had it done, and I'm fairly happy with the results, but I see some glare and starbursts around light sources if there is not very much light (I've got big beautiful pupils). Mine is mild, and I hardly notice it, but think it through.

its expensive because the Dr’s have to pay for that 500K dollar machine. And of course insurance is not going to pay for a cosmetic surgery.

All surgery is expensive.
And Lasik is not covered by insurance because it is a want, not a need.
