I am not sure if that is possible or not, but a wild stray cat that lives in woods across the street seems to always be pregnant. I wish I could catch her and take her to the cat orphanage.

A female cat can get pregnant as long as she is not too old. She can't get pregnant while she's nursing her kittens.

Funny question.
They never get pregnant because they want to. I seriously doubt they would know how.
I'm more than sure they don't relate to the how or when they become impregnated to the sixty-six days later when they deliver their litter.
Female cats love, feed, fuss over and protect their kittens.They will rarely be more than a few feet from them other than when completely necessary.
Unfortunately they will constantly become impregnated for as long as they menstruate.
Nature, especially to the feral cat isn't kind.
