First of all, I cannot believe that anyone told you there would be no more killings. That's totally unrealistic and irresponsible. But then, yours is a contrived question anyway, right? I've seen your "questions" before; they are all thinly-veiled rhetoric.
So, to answer your question, this "war supporter" did not lie to you. Your question, like all others, is just a contrivance.
Look, everything in the political realm can be viewed in terms of how people relate to one another on an individual basis. Some countries are governed like a marriage. Some are governed like a father and son. Others are tyrannically ruled by the weird, old eccentric uncle who is the matriarch of the family.
Iraq is an infant democracy. Just like babies scream and have temper tantrums because they don't know how to express themselves yet to get attention, this infant democracy is bound to behave badly and lash out blindly because it doesn't quite understand how a civil society works yet. They're learning. Give them time.
P.S. If you truly are a war vet, you must have some REAL questions you could pose. Why not give us the benefit of your experience? Certainly, you must have first hand knowledge most of us do not.

These psychos are celebrating "Big Daddy's" death. They consider him a martyr. His death will most likely strengthen their resolve to "oust the infidels" from their country. In my opinion, there are probably more terrorists created than killed in Iraq on a daily basis. When innocent civilians are killed by American troops, accidentally or not, who do you think their family will support? Who do you think their children will grow up to support? The insurgents or the people who killed their loved ones? THIS is why we can not win the immoral war in Iraq.

The "Big Daddy" was a leader of one of the 40 or more insurgent groups in Iraq. He was the face of the insugency only because of his ruthlessness and immorality. His death was a morale boost for the troops and the Iraqis wanting peace but it will not stop the fighting and killing. Even withdrawal of US troops will not stop the secretarian kiiing.

Every military personel, every contracter over there, understood the risk. We loose vary few troops on a daily bases compared to other wars..... If a supporter did say what they said, then they are an idoit... Every unit is capable of working independently, a major figure head was taken out, but the war isnt over yet.... Oh yea just remember his own people gave him up, so We are making a difference over there....

What or who are you listening to?
Everything that has been said has been carefully stated.... the war is not over and many violence's and deaths will still occur.
The taking down of Zarkawi was a VICTORY.... for our troops and the Iraqis. We are proud of them...and for them, for a job well done. But the work continues....
I really think you knew this. You chose this format to bash the war.
Shame on you!

Maybe because they are being optimistic.. But unfortunately the war in Iraq will never end... And that's what's sad. So many soliders killed andyes, Bush still stands firm and leaves our boys over there, just waiting and wondering if they are gonna come home or not.

Do not anything that a supporter tells you as they are repuglicans and lying is a way of life for them. The killings will go on until we are out of there. They are in a civil war and we are in the middle of it, we caused it so we are going to be killed.

They were wrong. They can't guarantee there will be no more deaths. The 'big daddy' might be dead, but that made him a hero in some of their eyes. The followers will still carry out their plans. I heard on the news that they are just waiting for his successor to tell them what to do next.

Nobody lied to you! This person was obviously just naive'.
The insurgency will not stop overnight just because we have slotted the worst one of its leaders, but the tide will turn.

I read that they expect a rise in activity as backlash for a bit. Why do you always have a negative attitude? Your wife must REALLY love being around you. I bet you are one of those bitter people who just hate everything and everyone is always wrong except you. YOU are ALWAYS right...
