I prefer mountain bikes. I've looked at Trek and Giant but I don't see much that I like except the one for $3500! Can't afford that one! By the way I'm 23 male 265lbs.

a good mountain bike for casual riding and NOT trail riding will run you about 200-700 depending what you get and where you go. If you are going for looks, believe me, you will not pay anything less than 1500 because all the lookers are in Trail Bikes, Downhill Bikes, and even some Cross Country bikes. Try the specialized Rockhopper or Stumpjumper. Or, the Trek 3000 series, Or, Cannondale's F series, Or Giant XTC or Anthem. Anything other than these and you start running into specialty bikes and the price also go higher.

Just get one at Walmart! Or if you have more money, there's some good bikes to be had at bike shops below $3500!! If I were you, I'd get a mountain bike made from light-weight materials. Easy to lug around, load up in/on vehicle.

Look for a brand called "Specialized" They can start at about $250 and go up into the thousands.....I have two mountain bikes that I love from them for around $300 each.

Considering your size here is a bike that you might want to look into. It is designed for bigger guys. It is the Kona Hoss. I think it will do type of riding that you want to do, plus a little more.
