If you're talking about Catholics, they have this concept called "Original Sin", which essentially means that, because of Eve eating that apple in the garden of Eden, everyone is born a sinner and you must join the Catholic church to be redeemed, regardless of whether you yourself have actually done anything wrong. I guess it comes down to the idea that people by their very nature, are bad (or at least sinful) and need guidance to behave properly.

Non-catholics (understandably) think this might be a little unfair. But when you go through the Bible there are hundreds of instructions on how you should live you're life, some of them reasonable (Thou shalt not kill) and some of them less so (Don't eat shellfish). It's pretty much impossible for anybody not to break at least some of these rules. Even Hassidic Jews, who go out of their way to follow almost every rule in the old testament (Ever wondered why Jewish men have that odd haircut with the braids? Blame the book of Leviticus), probably do the occasional sin here and there. So you cold argue that everyone really *is* a sinner (Ironically unless you're Catholic, in which case you can go to Confession and have the slate wiped clean)

Really it just comes down to the same thing with all highly moral people, most of us poor badly-behaved unbelievers cannot and in many cases will not meet up to their moral standards, so they judge us as being bad. Personally I think being this judgemental of other people is a "sin" in itself, I even have Jesus to back me up (for once), "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone."

Its because some "Christians" are so caught up in their on self righteousness that they forget the big picture.Everyone sins even the bible thumpers.Maybe if you want to change the world you look at your self first and make a change. If not then I say don't judge others or You will defiantly be judged.

Why don't you get you a King James Bible, and read for your self, Once you accept Christ, we bocome anew creature, it is called saved by grace, I do not believe in eternal security, sinnning in word thought and deed daily.. I believe we are to become a new man or woman put the things as sinners do away, become Christ like minded.

The simple answer would be that we believe in the bible...all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.....as Christians we know God so his word is sufficient for us...but the world itself has shown itself to be sinful and experiencing the world shows the need for a savior.

First and foremost, our bible says that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." We wouldn't be christians if we didn't believe the book.
Self test:
Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever stolen anything, even a paper clip?
If you said yes, then you have sinned, and the good news is that Jesus came to forgive the minor and major sins. all you have to do is turn from those ways and follow him.

Read the bible, ask for forgiveness, follow God's commands and walk the path he has set for us and find out for yourself, God works in all our lives in wonderful ways, all you have to do is knock on the door and it will be opened!

The Bible says so.

Also, do you know of anyone who has never told a lie (even a little white one, stretched the truth, fibbed or told a half truth), cheated on their taxes, cheated on their spouse, had sex before they were married, was angry, swore, ........
