With dogs it's a pack thing. Acknowledging the Alpha leader. With cats I believe it's a relaxed and comfortable thing I think that is great! The dogs in your life consider you "top dog" and the cats in your life feel comfortable around you.
If you have a really close connection to the lovable lil critters, yeah, it feels good when that wink happens.
Keep'em safe, discipline them, feed them, take them to the Vet and love them.

I'm not sure why a dog winks, but I do know why a cat winks. Cat winks are equivalent to cat kisses. That's their way of showing you they love you! I would imagine that is why a dog winks too, but anyway rest assured that it doesn't mean anything bad and that you are loved! Have fun with your pets! They are wonderful creatures for companionship and love to us humans.

Yes it means that they have something in their eye or have a medical condition that needs attention. Be careful not to assign human behaviors to pets.

that would be SOOOOOOO funny if my cats winked at me...... maybe your pet is just are blinking to get stuff out of his/her eye, or maybe.......................... HE/SHE KNOWS SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW!!!! And no, I am not kidding or crazy (just a little hyper).
