No and I will tell you why...
I boiled an egg in water as normal on the hob but forgot about it and it went cold.. the water was taking far too long to boil again, so I decided to shove it in the micro. I thought that just 30 secs would be ok, and it did seem to be ok, but as soon as I opened the microwave, the damn egg exploded with a bang and covered my kitchen in smelly egg!!! This was a few months ago and I still find bits of it from time to time!

If you can my wife sure doesn't know how! She tried doing that and short-circuited the microwave and we had to buy a new one!!! We laugh about it now - that was about 4 years ago.

She's not tried since then.
----------------------------------
Let me expound on what happened. She put the egg in a microsave bowl with water and placed in the microwave for (I think) 3 minutes and let 'er rip.

Not long into our little experiment started we saw a sparks coming off the egg and the insides of the microwave and it was like Frankenstein had come alive and then it emitted a lot spark sound just like any electronic equipment that suddenly goes on the blink. Then it never worked again and it went to microwave heaven. The egg did NOT explode. Nor did I get my boiled egg :(

You can. Just pierce a hole in the shell and set it with the hole up. The egg comes out really rubbery no matter how long or short you cook it though.

no ... not so good

but you can cook an egg in it's shell over an open fire by piercing a stick all the way through it.
You cook it like a hot dog - but it takes a lot longer.

No. The egg will explode due to the steam not being able to escape.

i wouldn't but you can cook it in boiling water. Maybe you could do it in the microwave in a bowl of water it's worth a try.

i don't think it is the best idea because if you do it will explode in the microwave. Besides i don't think "nuked eggs" taste that good!

Sure.

It will make a mess though when it explodes!

I have heard you can poke a hole in one end and set it upright. That is supposed to relieve the pressure.

I'm not gonna try it, you try it---Let's get Mikey to try it!

HEY MIKEY........
