Websites like Priceline, Hotwire, Cheaptickets, Lowestfare.com are not recommended for airline travel. You are locked into the purchase and you can not for any reason make changes. Any changes will have to be done through that companies Customer Service Department. Airlines can not and will not be able to touch those tickets. Preassigned seating, no matter what website you use, are only requests. There are NEVER guarentee's. Seating can be changed at any time. When checking in you can request seats together if you do not already have seat assignments. But what you purchase is a reservation on a plane, not a specific seat. You can log on to the airlines website and make an itinerary with the same flights you have. Look at the seats that are available. Airline websites will show you the seats before purchase, so you dont have to complete the reservation. Once you see what is available you can call the airline directly and request seats together if they are still available. Some airlines will not be able to preassign seats for these websites, that is part of the restrictions for getting cheap tickets. Go back and read the fare rules if you were not offered to select the seats. There are some fares on these websites that say "No preassigned seating" and you will be at the mercy of what's left. In the case of an oversale, you will be on a waiting list hoping to get a seat.
Always price compare all the websites then go to the airlines website to see what the difference is. There are consequences for finding "cheap" deals sometimes.
You may have a flawless trip and no problems, just keep in mind that there are times where using these websites really is more of a problem than its worth to save $50.

I didn't use that before. But once when my family went on vacation,Mom, Dad and me... We got split apart on the plane back but luckily, one was nice enough to switch sits! I am pretty sure we got our tickets online. Wella, if you're afraid in that situation, make sure you contact Priceline but phone and require no splits. Or if that doesn't comfort you, it's best to find an agent. They'll help you with that too.
